Watch the original (the 1976 one).
Unbelievable cast.
Tom Selleck without a mustache!
It's pretty good. |

I guess the question is: best movie Tom Hanks is in, or movie in which Tom Hanks gives his best performance?
If it's the former, I'm going to have to go with Saving Private Ryan, even if the ending is waaaaaaaay too cheeseball. |

Haha. No, marmots live in the Rockies.
It’s a marten.
You’ll probably never see one if you’re looking for one, they’re elusive. But set up a cam and you’ll get them all the time. |

It's been a long ass time sine I've seen't Road to Perdition but I'm gonna stick with it being the best/my favourite movie with him.
Toy Story is also great. |

The beach landing is one of the best sequences in film history.
For Hanks movies, I don't think Gump has aged well. I gotta go with Castaway as best Hanks performance, and overall I prefer it as a whole thing to Ryan, but that opening is such an achievement that overall it's the most important movie he's been in, let's put it that way.
Shout out to The Man With One Red Shoe and Splash. |

No chance.
They’re very elusive, and crafty.. I took a still shot from a video, but the footage is hilarious.. he’s always hopping around and spazzing out. |

You and I are probably the only two guys left on earth who still have an appreciation for the Man With One Red Shoe.
The scene with Lori Singer wearing the dress with butt cleavage is worth the price of admission alone.
I never liked Forrest Gump. Like, what was the point? Everyone thought it was clever for cutting him into old footage - Steve Martin did it years before with Dead Men Don't Wear Plaid. Hell, 100 other directors have done it.
The movie just lurched along from one thing to another, with no real consistent plot. Like, what the frank was up with the bit about running across America?
Yeah, I'm old and grumpy.
And yeah, Castaway is great. |

Ha ha, yeah I know a couple other guys who know One Red Shoe. I always remember when she says 'this man has been badly beaned!' after he takes the baseball in the head.
Yeah I thought Forrest Gump was overrated. It beat out Pulp Fiction for the Oscar, pretty classic lame Oscar decision. One film is canon now, the other no one really cares about anymore.
Another gem of a comedy I just thought of for some reason is Married To The Mob. I (frank)ing love that movie. |

I franking hated Dances with Wolves. Perhaps the most over-rated movie ever.
I've just had my first beer, so it's angry rant time.
Dances with Wolves isn't the worst.
Silence of the Lambs is the worst.
Anthony Hopkins is the worst franking over-actor of all time.
You want to see a scary Hannibal Lecter? Watch the original Manhunter, directed by Michael Mann.
https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0091474/
100X scarier Dr. Lector. The guy plays it so cool.
The entire film is great. Super 80s vibe - it's like a Miami Vice show, but darker. |

Loved Castaway - true winsix story, bumped into Hanks when he was practicing surfing for Castaway on Kauai at Anini beach and summoned up enough courage to exchange a few words. Enjoyed all of Philadelphia, Road to Perdition, Joe vs the Volcano, Catch me if you can, BIG, The Terminal, A League of their Own, Apollo 13 Green Mile, Sully and Bonfire of the Vanities. Hanks is a superior actor, and one of high character in my view.

Midway was supposed to be really bad. Not as bad as the Trump presidentsy, but baad - RogerRoeper
Indomitable: The Battle of Midway was easily, and I mean by a country mile, the worst movie I have ever seen. It was hard to decide what was worse, the plot, the acting, the special effects or the dialoge. I laughed the entire way through. |

Ya it’s bad.
I use a site called flixtor, and some movies they put on there are downright hilariously bad. |

I was just thinking about Dances With Wolves because of bad Oscar picks. It beat out Goodfellas, and Costner beat Scorcese. What says it all for me is, can anyone on remember a single line or scene from Dances? Now how about Goodfellas?
I agree that Manhunter is good, but I just have to disagree about Silence of the Lambs. Never saw the other ones though. |
