Bear spray is like $40.. for some reason I’m less worried about the ones on my property than the ones when I’m camping. But there’s zero logic in that.

Also leaving out food for them to lure them to your backyard camera is a decision you should revisit lol

There’s always been bears back there. That one was 500m from the house. I really don’t want it getting any closer than that. I expect it to get into my garbage any night now.

I just ordered some arrows for my recurve off Amazon, confidence just went up a bit.

I’m the guy who tells people to carry bear spray. I’m the bear spray town cryer. But I was also a tree planter in BC, and saw bears everyday. We used to chase them off the block with shovels. They’d come onto our campsite at night and make a ruckus. Plus I’ve taken the MNR bear awareness course twice. Also, I’ve backcountry hiked through cougar/grizzly/black bear country in AB many times, even had a cougar stalk me. I’m basically survivor man (my mom and uncles went to highschool with Les)

If anyone knows how to handle bears, it’s me.

As long as you aren’t downwind from the direction you’re spraying it.

Look, you can’t live life scared like that. How many times did Tom Thomson paint in the park, or Big Joe Muffraw paddle into Mattawa back in the day without getting attacked by a bear? Bear attacks are rare. Even tree planting they wouldn’t let you keep bear spray (although one time someone got attacked at night, the bear came into his tent and grabbed him by the head). If you want to buy me some bear spray, I’ll gladly accept. But it’s not a top priority.

I should really really stop feeding them, though.

Agree with many of these, and many horror movies suck, but its hard to dismiss a genre of films. I have studied some great directors academically. The Exorcist was a great movie - you might not like the subject matter - but that is a different issue. Many of Hitchcocks classics are considered horror films and the Shining was also top notch. Clockwork Orange is another terrific horror movie. Movies that are well done are supposed to evoke emotions, whether sadness, laughter, fright or just happiness if they are well done. Preference is different from whether a movie is well done or not.

On horror as a genre; I can understand that they can be well done, I just don't care for them at all from an enjoyment basis. I personally, for the most part, don't enjoy them at all. It doesn't entertain me.
