Tom Hanks was great in Batman. Especially that part where he says "I'm Batman". Great line. |

He was great as the submarine captain in Gone With The Wind.

good morning to all.
can't believe nobody mentioned 'Shawshank redemption' as the best movie Tom Hanks was in.. - MaximusAurelius
Might be because Hanks wasn't in Shawshank Redemption. The main characters were portrayed by Morgan Freeman and Tim Robbins.
Edit : But this could open a very lengthy discussion about great films that certain actors were never in. |

Tough one today between “A” Tracy Chapman or “
“B” Susan Boyle.
I’ll have to think about this.

Ok, after some thought, considering my daughter watched B on kids shows when she was little, I’ll have to go with A...no doubt. |

I guess my point didn't get accross (that people might mistake Tom Hanks for Tim Robbins..). |

I'm in a Zoom funeral atm, waiting for it to start. At the same time, I'm voting for an age-dubious entertainer in a beauty tournament on hockeybuzz. What's worse - this, or throwing out half a lasagna? |

Last night I was looking at the Best Picture nominees.
There's a ten-year stretch where I think I saw 5 of those films in the theatre.
Oddly enough, that stretch coincides perfectly with the time we had kids.
A lot of poop films got nominated.
Little Miss Sunshine was nothing special.
Same with Juno.
Precious was nothing more than virtue signalling by the Academy.
Silver Linings Playbook was meh at best.
And I haven't seen it, but how the frank does Mad Max: Fury Road get a Best Picture nomination? WTF?
Anyhoo, it's a good exercise, because it reminds you of some films you should rewatch, or watch for the first time:
