Makes sense, there's always an over reaction, you know like the toilet paper thing, always - BetweenTheDots
Can someone explain to me why that was/is a thing? If you're worried about a pandemic and shortages wouldn't you be concerned about the food shortage first?
Don't really need the TP is you don't have food to eat........ |

My uncle (who got me interested in hockey) and my grandfather used to call him "Dizzy Daze" because he would never hit anyone, and try to go around contact. Every time that I pointed out how skilled he was, they laughed at me and said he'd never amount to anything. Only thing that really slowed him down was the back injury.
Saad reminds me of Daze. A really good player that you always thought would produce a little bit better results. - Chunk
My uncle referred to him as the gentle giant. |

Really never made sense.
I heard someone say that there was an internet rumor that it was all manufactured in China.
After some research, I was surprised to find that most of it is manufactured in Wisconsin.
Still hard to get in NC.
I got a 30 jumbo roll pack at Costco one morning, so we're good for a while now |

I've seen no enforcement of any safety measures in Chicago. Construction is an essential business. I see road construction crews (including City employees), high rise crews, and residential crews not adhering to social distancing and not wearing masks. Just life as usual. - bhawks2241
I got bounced out of diversey harbor at 7am last Saturday (it was like 30 degrees too) with no one within 100 yards of me. They were polite about it but still kind of irritating.
Went down LSD West between belmont and diversey harbors and into Lincoln park the other day and there were patrol cars at each access point for the lake shore trail. There were an absolute crap ton of people walking along the lawn in the park and running in the street or wherever there weren't cars.
Seems a little arbitrary. Not having those spaces open for people to walk or bike or whatever is just pushing them to other places. |

They have barriers up now and cheap wood fencing to keep people out around there now. Drove by Tuesday. It is very arbitrary. Other parks are open so people just congregate in those areas instead.
Meanwhile City contractors are over on Southport and Webster smoking cigs in a group of 5 not following any social distancing guidelines. |

A favorite memory of Daze was the 2001-02 season when he broke out for 38 goals and 70 points as well as earned the All Star Game MVP award. Thought that was signs of similar production for years to come but his bad back just hampered him until he retired.
I wasn't an autograph hound so never really sought out player appearances. Of the few autographs I have are from Daze and Thibault as I just happened to be on Michigan Avenue one day and walked by HawkQuarters when they were there. Both were really great and down to earth. |

There is a skateboard park on Venice Beach in LA, and they filled it with sand from the beach. It stopped the skateboarders, but now they are dealing with dirt bikers. |

Apparently the Governor of Illinois will announce today that the stay at home order will stay in effect until at least late May.
No hockey in Illinois until at least mid-June.
Not that hockey is important compared to 26 million people who have lost their jobs in the past six weeks in the US. |

Yesterday he hinted at this but declined to identify what he is relying on to justify his decision. Maybe he will do so today. |

Yesterday he noted projections showing that peak new incidents of the infections won’t occur until the middle of May - and the guidelines say that they need to see 14 days of declining new infections before opening up.
Based on flawed models? Maybe - but all f the models are based on information that is known at the time - and as the information changes over time, so change the models.
In the absence of effective widespread testing, the models are the only statistically-based projections that they have. They are not fake news, they are not conspiratorially based attacks on Trump....Why they use one model (or some synthesis of several) over another, I have no idea.
I certainly don’t like being shut out from life - and I certainly understand that being able to work from home and not having lost my job and income, my family is much more able to survive the shutdown than a large percentage of the people - which may color my acceptance of the situation. I also understand that somehow we must find a way / ways to rationally gradually incrementally reopen society before a vaccine is available (next spring at the earliest) and probably before R0 falls below 1.
But - that’s where we are now.
Just MHO. |

Main reason on Twitter news feed, i watch the news to know what the masses will do. I know they always over react and if the rest of you haven't figured this out yet....

Call off this season, have draft lottery, then draft, then plan the 20-21 season starting with cap and cbo(s), if any. I understand there will be ramifications, there will be lost revenue, 99% of all businesses have lost revenue, it is what it is. |

Governor Cuomo said today that a random study of 3,000 New Yorkers found that 14% have the antibodies to covid-19. As of 2017, NY's population was 19.85M, which means that 2.78 million of them had the Ebola, I mean, covid-19. 20,354 ÷ 2,780,000 = .0073. So .73% of those who get the disease die, in the hardest hit area of the country. |

I finally heard a government official (I forget which one) say what I’ve been saying all along. The focus should be on if something is safe, not on if it’s essential. Hopefully that kind of logic spreads. - Ogilthorpe2

Crawford, party of four! Congrats to Corey and Kristy, and big brother Cooper, on the birth of Camden Emery.
I wonder if the middle name is a nod to Ray. |

The Eric Daze story served as a reminder how fragile a career can be. In a sport with enough physical body checking.which results in 8mkuries for 3ach team each season,. I have to just wonder whom in our farm system and parent team will have a shortened career as Daze did
DeHahn I would bet is not long for the NHL. It would be a plus if he can play half of next season. I have to question how effective DeHahn will be and if more issues with the shoulder are sooner rather than later
But my concern is more about the kiddie corps which I dream is a backbone, a driving force for this team for years to come
. Specificly Boqvist already has suffered some concussions, right?
I want to suggest that Bowman has a plan in infuse more physical style players and much more grit team - wide. I see bottom two lines plus Carlsson and Dach adding this element.
But I say you have to possess enough players who willingly police the paying of the game by dishing back the mugging or big hits and intimidation. Not as a war, but just by their style of play .......we need opponents to know that they can expect the same treatment as they punish or dish.
We have some smallish side skill guys in Mitchell, Boqvist, Beaudin and probably Kyrs whom can provide a dynamic effort and really help push the offense
They should not be a rotating crew in the press box due to injury and weak response from teamattes.
Maybe I am a bit over the too but I know how intense I was when I played sports and too much weak players in the lineup drives me crazy. |

de Haan was excellent for us this season, but I wonder if he'd be the one to go if the Hawks needs to dump salary. I know Maatta is the popular choice to go (for good reason) but he might stick around because he can be counted on for more than 40 games.
