Twisted Sister, also not “heavy metal” ask Metallica how they like being lumped in with and compared to Twisted Sister.
I agree, the ‘80’s spawned some great bands in a new style. But you claimed it had never happened before and likely never would again (I’m paraphrasing, I don’t recall your exact words). I would argue that bands like Sound Garden, Alice In Chains and Pearl Jam did it again in the ‘90’s. The same thing happened in the late 60’s early ‘70’s and again and again and again.
But lumping Queen in with heavy metal, or in the ‘80’s is just wrong. - 1970vintage
lol maybe you should ask Dee Snider how he feels about being lumped in with Metallica after albums like 'Load' 'Reload' and 'St Anger' Too many people only associate the "stay Hungry' Album with TS and the massive radio tracks...if you listen to their early stuff fully it is definitely Metal and should be classified as such.
But you are correct each decade produced great stuff 60's 70's 90's and so on. However what I meant was that era of 80's metal was truly unique IMO. Priest, Maiden, Metallica, Megadeth, Queensryche, Ozzy, Dio, WASP and many others is like nothing we have ever really heard before. To me, it just had a certain flavour all it's own and I really believe there never will be anything like it ever again..if that makes sense. And sure Nirvana, Soundgarden, AIC and Pearl Jam, STP and great 90's bands were great but lumping them in with Maiden Priest Metallica Queensryche Megadeth Ozzy Dio WASP and such well it's not even in the same ballpark...not even close really. The body of work and impact.influence from the 80's bands was just on another level than the 90's stuff. Sure there were great bands from the 60's 70's that could be considered on par with some of that but were talking Metal here right? lol Another conversation altogether.
As far as Queen that's your opinion and that's fine but respectfully will disagree. If you've ever read any historical writing from a guy named Martin Popoff (premiere Metal writer of our time) he has more than a few Queen albums classified as Heavy Metal and you sure can make an argument for that. Much like Twisted Sister, Queen has albums that can be classified as Metal. Is all their stuff Metal? Well no lol but they produced some real heavy stuff and Brian May cites Iommi as maybe his biggest influence. And Sabbath was 'arguably' the first Metal band. anyways I hope that helps and it is what it is...opinions will vary.
Oh by the way I had a 2016 Sandhill Pinot Gris with Pork BBQ last night and it wasn't very good

Doesn’t surprise me. Sandhill owned by Peller - big company, now with some premium brands where Sandhill used to be their premium. Not a fan. Tinhorn Creek and Black Hills are their flagship brands now, Grey Monk, Sandhill, Wayne Gretzky Estate next,

To me, it's like how blues planted the seed for rock. There's no definitive answer to the first rock song, but there are ground breaking artists that steered the music toward the genre. Sabbath and Queen are such artists.
Howard Soon was the winemaker at Sandhill for years and retired a while back. He was very good. Some of their “small lot” wines were decent but I find their generic varietal and blended wines are (and always have been) just ok.

Yes. I can agree that Queen might have been an inspiration to metal artists, like blues were an inspiration to what we now call classic rock.
For any of you small business owners out there the wage subsidy program opened today, you can now apply. If your business is still open I believe you are eligible to receive payments going back all the way to March 15th, and if you aren’t open but could be with limited staff, you can receive up to 75% of employees wages ($800ish/week per employee) to get people working again.
Yeah I know the story. Just saying, maybe he’s happier that way? Also that TSN doesn’t really care, or is careful what they say about the NHL or its teams the way SN is. Rick D is an example of that... - 1970vintage
That is the only way TSN can remain significant in by stirring the pot
I think, outside of the greed words, fragile is the best. If one guy on one team gets COVID, do they play on without him? What if 5 guys crop up a few days after that on the same team? That team is eliminated? - NewYorkNuck
Its like society in general. Open to soon, you fail, and everything you did up to this point was a waste. Do your due diligence, test, test, test and open only when you can answer, "Did we do everything we could in our power to make this work?" Unfortunately, some in society, business, etc. can't. or won't accept this.
Trailer Quarantine Day# 6 Movie# 14 Full Metal Jacket
One of the best war movies ever made. It really is like two distinct movies in one.
The first half in boot camp with Lee Ermey as the Drill Sargent is insanely good. How he didn't win the Oscar for that performance is beyond me (Hollywood Politics?). He wasn't even chosen for the role at the start, just a Technical Adviser for the actual actor. After belittling extras on the set he was given the part and he was able to write or edit his own dialogue and improvise as he wanted.
The second half of the movie has great action, insane suspense and even laughs in the middle of "Being in the poop" Just a great film.
A Movie Quote: Well, baby, me so horny. Me so HORNY. Me love you long time. You party?"
