there is a lot worse in major sports picked in the top 2 worse then reinhart

a lot worse

- navinrjohnson

It falls just as much on the Sabres' scouting department as it does Reinhart to be, most likely, the only player who can't play his natural, drafted position.

You’re really goin out on a limb. There will be 9 teams contending for the last wild card spot. Will they be in the playoffs or not?
- Hatboro_Swords

They get a wild card spot yes.

9-7 finish is my guess.

Not in my opinion. His job on that pairing will be to be a defensive babysitter. If he can play in his own zone, he should be fine. If he fails, then you just move Joker there, which is where he will be eventually anyway
- jcragcrumple

Your D-pairings aren't bad but the lack of depth worries me. The year we dump our one area of depth would be the year they all get injured and before we know it it's Zach Redmond and Casey Nelson on the back end

That falls on the scouting department too

There was discussion about the Sabres greatest disaster yesterday and people were saying losing the 2015 lottery but forgetting that our scouts dropped the ball and didn't think just a tad outside the box to draft Leon and see that Reinhart might struggle as a center.

Did you see the picture Dweezil posted the other day?

Had to take a double look. Looks exactly like his dad.

We had a 20% chance of winning that lottery.

The tank was always to guarantee Eichel.

I don’t see how that’s considered a loss when really it was the most realistic outcome.

Of course the favoured outcome was McDavid but that’s just unfortunate not necessarily a loss.

cleveland plays the jets and raiders

baltimore plays the pats and chiefs

I think that's the difference

plus the nfl will pay more attention how to defend jackson

- navinrjohnson

Your list looks really good. I’ll say only one team in outta the South. Rank 1-4. That is more important than ever this year.

1. KC
2. Balt
3. Buff
4. Tenn
5. NE
6. Cleve
7. Den Congrats Flacccoville. Too bad they get absolutely 5 alarm annhilated in the Wild Card game. Super Bowl XXIV style.

I agree and that's why 2014 was the real downer and that the PROFESSIONAL scouts faltered in two ways. Not seeing the problem with Reinhart playing center and not seeing a franchise player who was waiting to be plucked by them.

Oh well that's like drafting a LT #2 who has to play guard because he doesn't have the footwork.

I wonder which top two draft pick in the NHL, or NFL over the last say 20 years maybe 30 had to change his drafted position because he wasn't good enough to play it besides Reinhart?

If Reinhart was a winger would the Sabres have taken him #2?

If Reinhart could play center they wouldn't have needed to trade for ROR, and they would have their third line center in Compher, and a solid D in Nikita Zadorov. They could have used him or Risto in a deal for a solid forward.

Drafting Reinhart led to two more disasters, the trade for ROR and the trade of ROR. Clusterf*ck. I rest my case

Did Ryan Leaf become a WR? Nolan Patrick a Dman?

Would the Sabres have taken Reinhart if he was a winger whose check is written by Eichel?

Just some things to wonder about before he signs a huge and long contract.

Murray had such a man crush on O'Reilly that he was trading for him no matter what.

You worded your baloney to try and have an out, but it's not going to work.

All the players I named sucked, flat out.

Would you rather have drafted a player that just sucked period but hey, at least he sucked at the position he was drafted at. That's incredibly silly logic.

All that said, I'm not an advocate for signing Reinhart to a big, long term deal as I'd absolutely trade him for a quality center.

Less than zero chance Point is available.

They'll trade everything under the sun necessary to keep Point and Cirelli.

The most likely available candidates are players like Monahan and Nugent Hopkins, and they have their warts.

I didn't word it anyway but ask but what top two draft pick in the NHL or NFL had to change his drafted position because he wasn't good enough to play it besides Reinhart. Simple, straight forward.

If he’s average they win 10 games.

Hard to argue with the talent the Broncos have on the roster right now.

Probably one of the best 1-53 man rosters in the entire NFL.

If Lock isn’t the guy, the next one is walking into a perfect fit.

So the top 2 picks that flat out stunk overall don't matter?

You worded it that way to avoid all the responses with players who totally flamed out without changing positions to try another. It's a Thank You For Smoking lobbyist ploy.
