There is no chance that all the things everybody did, i.e. staying at home, wearing masks, etc., impacted the numbers being lower than the worst case estimations?
Does that mean all those actions should not have taken place because the impact was overblown? - kingcong39
We weren’t supposed to be at 60k dead until August. |

yes...they are...but after only a few months, as a GM, are you gonna start dictating, however subtly, what your coach should do? |

I would hope that botts and ralph discussed players with in the organization?
Mcbeane work well together
Do you think botts has 0 say in players positioning ?
I understand the coach makes the final decision, but I would hope there is some continuity.
Could be, based on the potential trade deadline guys being healthy scratched? 🤔

Hear me out:
Instead of blaming Krueger for not playing Reinhart at center, just get a (frank)ing center |

i'm sure they discussed various roster decisions...but do you really think botts would come out and tell his coach what to do?...for instance, move sam away from jack?
I don't think so, especially when it's this early in his coaches tenure |

Potentially putting himself at $3.3m cap disadvantage with a stagnant cap would be very bad if they're actually interested in upgrading the roster. It's comically bad considering they're the 6th worst team in the league. Accruing cap penalties on such a poopty team has to be a record - like Happy Gilmore being the only person who has ever taken off his skate and tried to stab someone. - jcragcrumple
Do we actually have a number of what bonuses might have to be paid. He added players that he hoped would help this team, some of them didn't work out. The bad thing is he shouldn't even have to add some of these players if there was anything in are system to fill certain spots. People don't like him that's fine, if are system was built right half this poop wouldn't even be a problem. |

On that topic, Henrique's contract goes for 4 more years. Ideally, it would go for 3 more.
Finally, I have read that Nashville has no intention of dealing Bonino, and even if they did, it seems the cost to trade for him will be higher than Henrique.
Those are all the reasons I believe Henrique is more realistic than Bonino as a trade target.
- kingcong39
Henrique is in the second year of a 5 year deal he signed in Anaheim and was about to hit 30 goals this year. With Getzlaf only has 1 year remaining on his deal and will be 36 when he signs his next contract, I don't see Anaheim wanting to deal Henrique.
They have $7m to sign 8 guys this summer, and I would think that they are more likely to trade Getz than Henrique. They have a NMC and NTC, so it's likely neither end up moving unless Getz gets moved at the TDL to a contender. |

At the start alarmists were projecting 2 million deaths in the US alone.
You are probably the kind of person upset at the updated low death rate because you wanted more people dead just to win a political argument. You are sick. |

Do you actually believe this? - TC4145
yes I believe there will be a secondary spike, and I believe they are rushing people back to work to avoid bankrupting the states
I can't think of one state that has done this right, over then maybe california |

GMTM bad;
Botts worse;
Reinhart is great for a 5th rounder but because others drafted behind him are better, he sucks;
Okposo should not have been signed;
Skinner should not have been signed for anything more than $5M;
We never tried to improve the team;
We need a President of Hockey Ops;
Ownership is clueless;
ROR, ROR, ROR bad all around;
Trump is to blame;
Can't open up;
Gotta open up;
SHOULD HAVE SEEN ALL OF THE ABOVE COMING AND DONE EVERYTHING IN OUR POWER TO PREVENT WHAT IS NOW OBVIOUS.
Did I miss anything?

Bold - I believe. You have come to the conclusion because all the information that is out there is definitive?
What about California is being done correctly?
Are you another clever individual who sits back and wishes that their worst case scenario comes to fruition so you can be right? |

I understand the move to get Frolik, but the timing was bad. The 2nd line was producing very well and when Sobotka went down the production disappeared. Seeing Frolik as a similar player and trying to replace the role Sobotka played made sense. Like I said earlier, the timing was bad. Perhaps Tage was supposed to fill that role, but he gets hurt in his first game up.
I don't hate the moves he made this year, just think that every move he made was made too late. |

Two of my parents live on the Gulf side in the St. Pete area.
They constantly bashed the shut down and said how overblown the concern was.
I got a call from them two days ago: they have both tested positive and are now under a mandatory 14 day quarantine. They have been advised that they have been flagged and if their cars are found to be on the road and not in their garage, they will be getting a hefty fine. |

I know individuals who were listed as COVID deaths. One was 80+ with several co-morbidity and another was a 90+ year old who had been very sick for the last two years. Both of their doctors listed COVID as the cause of death. Two individuals who were never going to get better. They contracted the disease and passed.
COVID listed deaths BUT they were on their last leg prior to catching the virus. |

They love the triple threat of Getzlaf, who they want to retire as a Duck, along with Zegras and Steel.
Also, Henrique is from Ontario. It may help, especially if the Ducks want to offload his contract, which I believe they do. |

So COVID accelerated their demise, and ultimately lead to their demise happening sooner than it would have, but yet you think that COVID should not be listed as their cause of death?
There are also others who are in the same scenario above who never got tested for COVID and that was not listed as their cause of death when it was likely the cause.
Those people were likely not going to get 'better', but that also doesn't mean they were going to die when they did without being infected.
What point are you trying to make? |
