Well, he fvcked up Skinner's contract by not having the facts to negotiate a less outlandish contract AVV and Term.
So, let's make the same mistake with Sam AND Olofsson.

Yes, I am saying that he could have the cold hard facts in front of him to slide accccrosttt the table, to the Agent, or gidforbid the Arbitrator. For both he can just raise his eyebrows and twittle his thumbs when the Agent throws out the factual figures without any sort of counter argument.

I do not think you can say he f'ed it up. If you were to say that Skinner was signing for 8X8 then Botts signed him to 9X8, that I would say was a f up.

But, two sides agreed to a contract that one side needed to pay to keep the other side here. You do not like it - yep. Was it f'ed up, I do not think so.

I think he was (frank)ed with the fans either way, people would have been calling for his head if he didn't sign him, but know there calling for his head because he signed him. He had a bad year, he isn't a player that can drive the car himself, he needs help. Did the coach screw up by not playing him with Jack, maybe, but I watched a lot of games, the guy had his chances with whoever he was playing with, just wasn't his year. If he was scoring like last year nobody would be talking about it.

Mine is different for sure.

IMO he should have never gone over 6 years, I said it then.
If he were to do so, then the price should have reflected a discounted 7th and 8th year given the asset would be declining most likely in those years.
He was not worth $9m even at 6 years, more like $8m. IMO.
The true measure is in the tradeability of the contract. It is not.
It wasn't at the signing, and it is further away now.

For me, that is the definition of ge fvcked it up...but whatever.

I read it as him, however poorly worded (or even childish) it may have been, wondering if people would feel the same as they did if their family member fell sick from it. But I was reading as a neutral observer and not as a participant in the spat.

19% LESS medium danger shots
+ some low per engage (5? I forget that detail) of low danger shots, the kind rarely scored with.
For 90% of the season, his shooting percentage was nearly identical to his 9 year average.

The take away,
His opportunities to score were reduced by playing with low grade talent.
Fact based on data.

That's the biggest thing, they just need more talent. They need a better 2nd line, if they can get 2 players to fill that line and make it dangerous, think they already have there 3rd line with Kahun Cozens Mojo, and then improve the goaltending this team could be very dangerous.
