Fire banned in zones 1-36 in Ontario - "all of the Fire Zones in Ontario" as of April 2 I believe.

How quickly everyone forgets the stupid penalties Clifford took in the offensive zone that almost cost the Leafs a couple games. He's a repacement level plug and the easiest guy on the roster to replace. He doesnt bring anything of value to the team that can't be had from a free agent scrub making the league minimum. If they resign him and have to give up a 2nd round pick, it would be idiotic. |

I’m glad you joined to share this. Can’t say I really disagree. I’ve pretty much forgotten everything except how beautiful Willie Nye is. |

It was reported as a “province-wide” burn ban, but in fact, it only affects area from Muskoka to Northern Ontario.
Southern Ontario is exempt from the burn ban, but some municipalities are implementing their own burn bans. The city of London enacted a ban effective April 1 to help ensure COVID-19 physical distancing.
That was posted april 3, but I haven’t looked it up in the last couple days but I’m still under the impression I’m not under a fire ban in my township. |

Big yellow fire ban signs on the hydro poles in Muskoka. It’s pretty obvious here. |

Clifford made $800K last year - yet we get a smelly LA troll that enjoys the following landfill on his current team:
Dustin Brown $5.875 Million
Jeff Carter $5.272 Million
Phaneuf $4.062 Million
Kovalchuk $6.025 Million
Over $21 Million of crap space
Hard to see LA being anything but a terrrible team for some time - winsix
That was uncalled for. I came here to compliment Clifford and say that giving him a C+ was unwarranted. How does that make me a troll? |

Clifford was ok, no great shakes, but at $800k he was fair value. Would be ok if he was re-signed at a reasonable price. You mentioned the Carolina game against the zamboni driver - I suppose you mentioned it to make friends on the Leaf blog? I didn't hear you mention that Carolina lost four straight after that game.

I would take Clifford at league minimum. If they’re going to pay someone to be a poop disturber and protector without helping on the scoreboard then I think you can find a lot of players for league minimum. |

Meh.
I'm a hardened enough Leafs fan to recognize that story for what it was - a quirky, weird, wonderful thing.
Yeah, against the Leafs, but I have no problem with people enjoying it.
Of course, I was at the Leafs-'canes game just before Christmas, so it makes it a little easier to swallow. |

What does that have to do with anything? Ayres made for a great human interest story and the hockey world is better off for it. It wasn't a dig at the Leafs. |

Worth noting that Clifford had more Goals and Points per 60 than Kopitar last season. The only player on the team with more was Austin Wagner.

Might be so, it was the lowpoint of the season for most Leaf fans. Much more enjoyable for non-Leaf fans for sure.

Not so sure - Ferland got paid bigtime and didn't do too much. He may be past his best before date and the Canucks still owe him a bundle of cash. Doubt that Clifford signs for anything less than $1.5 million. |
