I checked out my Shoppers Drug Mart - the only shaver they had left was $299.

I ended up having my wife shave it down with an old beard trimmer I had - with the #1.

It would have been better to use my weed wacker.

Our work is offering reduced work week hours if we want, no questions asked, at a reduced wage of course. We could then claim a benefit for lost wages.

I considered this, because hey, free money. The truth is, I don't need to do this so I don't feel right about it.

I know a lot of people will "game" whatever system is in place. Even before any of this you see employees every day gaming the disability benefits.

- Aetherial

It’s really poopty.

But it needs to be in place for those who actually need it...there will always be people trying to take advantage of people to get ahead.

I loathe gaming the system to get ahead. I'll apply for tax credits but I'd rather work for my income than fill out forms for it.

Working for income is better for the social good than applying for programs that one doesn't need.

Edit: I guess that last statement is painfully obvious

poop the Onion doesn’t (frank) around

“Trump Accused New York of Padding State’s Mortality Rate by Including African American Deaths“

Last line - “Trump went on to demand that Cuomo apologize to him personally for harbouring African Americans in the first place.”

Unless you’re going to hammer the poop out of everyone, you accept that there’s going to be a bit of leakage. Oh well, a few people get a bit too much or don’t work when they could. The alternative is worse.

Yup. But in the context that Ivison is suggesting that getting 2k a month from the gov is going to turn everyone into welfare queens, which is pretty presumptive and suggests that he believes that he has insights into the human psyche that nobody else has.

We should put those workers on LTIR, and then they don't count against Canada's salary cap.

He's clueless, 2000 a month won't cut it for most people who lost their jobs.
My mortgage is 2000 a month.

24000 dollars a year?

I used to make 24000 dollars a year about 12 years ago.

That money didn't go very far when I was a broke ass student with three roomates, hard to imagine how you could live on that now.

More heartless than clueless.

But there may be some truth in it - if I'm a minimum wage worker, getting 32 hours per week, that's less than $2,000.

If it's a job where I'm exposed to the virus, and I have young kids or older parents living with me, well hell yeah, I might be tempted to tell the man to go frank himself.
