Does anyone have any in depth information on Romanov, the D-man the Habs just signed (beyond just point totals)?

Article by Powers in the Athletic today said this regarding Shaw. FWIW

There has yet to be any official announcement on Andrew Shaw’s future. A couple sources recently said they’d be surprised if he played again, but no one seems to know definitively. Shaw seems to be in a better mental state. He’s been involved in the EA Sports’ NHL tournament and mentioned he was working out during a recent interview on the NHL’s Twitter account.

Also, looks like da Haan is doing a lot better.

If the 2019-20 season resumes, there might be a possibility Calvin de Haan is able to play. He underwent surgery on his right shoulder on Dec. 27, 2019 and was expected to miss the rest of the season as he required probably 4-6 months of recovery.

De Haan has now been through four months of rehab and you can probably tack on at least 2-3 more months before there’s any chance of the season resuming. De Haan is also technically cleared for contact right now, according to a source."

If it has a lot of pictures in it and all of the words are one syllable it will definitely have broad appeal to most loyal Hockeybuzz readers.

haha. Unfortunately, no pictures.

Quick ready though and very conversational.

Saw that Lido.

It'll be said if he can't play again, but ultimately, I just want that dude to be a healthy human.

He'll have a job with the team if he wants it. Sounds like all of the recently retired Hawks are going that route... Campbell, Bollland, Kunitz, Fraser.

I am going to cringe every time that guy gets hit.

I would say the next time that shoulder pops will be the last in the NHL.

Here's hoping he can stay healthy because he's a heck of a dman when he is.

The one possible saving grace on this is that although he is currently cleared for contact, he will still get another few months to rehab the shoulder and make the surrounding muscle stronger. Hopefully that helps stabilize the joint and make it more durable.

This was my thinking too. Get that shoulder strengthened so that if he gets hit, it will hopefully not get damaged. da Haan is pretty damn good dman and I hope we keep him.
