His rise in the organization coincides with the most successful drafting for the organization but like any other business, everyone is replaceable.
I guess the bigger concern is that this is yet another example of relationships being spoiled within the organization with Benji at the helm. Maybe it isn’t him, but he’s ultimately responsible. - 1970vintage
The way I look at it is if guys like Brackett are as good as their reputation, then they would be extremely difficult to keep when contracts need re-upping. As far as a beef about “autonomy-based” concerns. I don't give much credit to a bunch of hockey media guys quoting only each other very often. All other sources are always unnamed but they can go on and on quoting their colleges in the business who also dont name sources. What a great racket rumours are.
Quebecers are foreigners? Idk that thx - Nighthawk
We are talking about the outbreak in Alberta and red mile is speaking about Alberta during covid19 and how it effects BC (link below) with closing provincial borders. What does it have to do with quebecers and getting put out of work "all of the time".

He’s still an employee, but would you want someone there who you know won’t be an employee in the future? - 1970vintage
I wouldn't want him there, but due to the circumstances, I'd want all his data off of his devices that are related to the team and not be allowed to sit at another table for this draft. Any other year, nobody would give a rat's ass, but due to the possibility that the draft might not happen before his contract expires I'd want him either resigned immediately or else let go and all his scouting info and data he has access to removed from him before he's even allowed to negotiate with someone else.

I’m sure the NHL wouldn’t allow any current employees to work for other teams until they sort out “free agency” or after the draft etc. they’ve also had all their meetings, if the Canucks are a well run organization then records will all be kept on company owned devices/servers. I’m sure they are all set. Benning may want one of his boys from the scouting staff that he trusts at the table with him, but I’m sure he will be well prepared.

Not that the Canucks have given him permission to leave yet so he cant do this but it's a thing. Teams letting a scout or department head go and he sits at another team's table with the research he gathered while on his former team. Once you give permission for that person to take another job, you cant do anything about it. Brian Burke has talked about both himself and hiring people in this situation. He says it's an incredible advantage. It's like doubling your scouting department for that draft. 2 for 1.

Exactly, there's a reason why they have the draft before July 1st, that's usually the date all contracts expire whether for players, coaches, GM, staffs. Being that this isn't a normal year and the league calendar is all messed up, I'd make sure he's resigned by June 1st or else I'd complain to the league that he shouldn't be allowed to be signed/used by any other team until after the draft's been completed and his info becomes less useful to them.
Roger Waters sure has been shaking a hornets nest with his political speeches at shows the last few years. Not with the fans but with media and America's propaganda machine. Good for him.

Mantis are common around my property. Had one on my living room window screen last summer. It was a male. Small... I see the big females in the tall grass and wild roses out back.
