Not a fan I take it?

Controversy aside in terms of should the event even occur, I thought it was a pretty great card.

I streamed it at work myself.
Some amazing fights.
But I think the ufc is about as divisive as Star Wars on here.

- dbot

Ngannu and gaedje both just starched their opponents. Those two alone made it a great card.

So sad, but he had a good long go and did it right.

I want to see the rest of this season played out. OV getting to 50 goals and winning anther Rocket Richard. Canucks making the playoffs on points not winning percentage.

A full playoffs. No shortened series.

- kaptaan

That would be the hope but the longer they wait the harder it will be to fire up.

Need to get rolling soonish.

Not exactly sure of terminology here, so going with this: LA and assistant GM Mike Futa are parting ways. Futa, whose expertise is draft and amateur scouting, is allowed to talk to other teams now. Kings still have director of amateur scouting Mark Yannetti to run their draft.

I wonder if their fan base is in turmoil also?

Makes no sense. Why play “6” games. They would be in the exact same spot they are now, uneven number of games played. Either finish the season or just start the playoffs or just cancel the whole thing.

They can drop each team back to their point totals at 68 games, and then play 6 games to determine playoffs if this was the case. I say just do Playoffs or Cancel it altogether.

Just cancel the season already, bite the bullet and get set up for Oct/Nov when things may be "better" enough that you can have small crowds in arenas and at least have a semblance of a "normal" regular season.

Maybe Futa is going to replace Benning?

What I don’t understand is that Canada’s borders are still ‘closed’ to most international travel. Horgan just went on record saying he’s asked the PM to keep the border closed to the US with no time limit to open, and that was yesterday.

How do you run the NHL with closed borders? How do you assemble teams if players are scattered around the world?

I don’t know what Garry and Co are thinking.

And so, another week begins...

I've got one great tidbit for you if you didn't catch it on the weekend — Sportsnet's "Watch Party" for Game 7 of the Canucks-Blackhawks series is fantastic — and available on YouTube, so you should be able to watch it from anywhere.

That and more, in the new blog:

Just move all the teams to the designated places to play and they stay there until it's done. No travel.

True, but how do they get them to one location to begin with?
