Casey is a great fourth line center and that’s exactly what he is IMO. I never envisioned him as a third line center or second line center. I know a lot of islander fans have this thought process but i just don’t see it. Just my opinion. He is great where he is and couldn’t be happier he’s on this team. Now if he could only stay healthy

Okay since you're that bored I'll say Bailey belongs in the conversation. I've bashed him on here for years, but he's been much better the past 4 years than he was in the past. He can still be infuriating and will become invisible, but the guy has been putting up points and that's something the Isles struggle with.

Yes, Bailey puts up points. And then lets guys skate past him and score. It's not coincidental that he has THE WORST +/- on the team. He may have improved in the past 4 years, but the bar was set pretty low.

By the way, hope everyone is staying safe. I read that Long Island may begin to open up soon.

Its Nelson and not even a discussion, he's evolved into a better more consistent player since a professional coach has been hired

For the past 4 seasons he's a .7 ppg player. That's pretty good, certainly good enough to be in the poll. I'm still not a fan, but he contributes.

He does contribute points wise but with that said if this team ever wants to really compete Bailey can’t be in our top 6. He’s just not a competitive enough player. He doesn’t ever leave it all on the ice. Of course his points need to be replaced and no I’m not saying that’s an easy feat but Bailey is simply not a player you win it all with. He’s half arsing it far to often and he sucks defensively. If he were putting up 70/80 points you could overlook his shortcomings but that’ll never happen.

Not disputing he puts up points he does and like you said he has improved in that sense but to me the negatives somehow outweigh the positives. Just my opinion.

I've never been a fan. I outright hated him for years. I was hoping Trotz would get him to improve his two way game which hasn't really happened.

I think his two way game has actually gotten worse. Would drive me nuts when capuano and butch would go on and on about how great defensively he was. 🤮

Bringing this over from last thread.

replacing jt with pageau. Good plan,
- RogerRoeper

Who sad replacing JT with Pageau you (frank)ing Moron. We have a #1 Center in Barzal and needed a shutdown 3rd line center good on the draws.
We are building a complete team that covers all Defense and Offensive elements that make a well rounded team unlike your top heavy PO winning deficient Leafs team.

So:

- nyisles7

"well rounded", isles can't score goals lOL. kind of important.

there is no one who would picked islanders roster over leafs.

You're right. After all, what does Lou know about building winning teams?

With no cap he was an expert. in a cap era he's an amateur.

Isn't it enough that you killed Jerry Stiller by posting that GIF in the other thread?

Lee is not among the top 5 forwards on the team. He’s basically a younger version of Andrew Ladd. Eberle, Nelson Cizikas, Beauvillier. Then maybe Lee. Leadership is overrated when you can’t skate above 5 mph

Lee 122 goals
Brock has 91 goals
