Sounds like a strong draft.
If we pick 7th this year, where does that #7 overall compare to the nylander, mitts , cozens drafts?
Is our 7th comparable to a 5th last year ( as an example?)
Seems like last year was pretty solid? - Boss34

It's sad. It seems like he could be one of those former athletes that's broke, dead or in jail by 50. I hope someone gets him actual help - jcragcrumple
It just goes to show you that coaches and whom ever else NFL gms would talk to about players will lie like crazy.
I’m sure everyone said Sammy was a good kid blah blah. Deep down, he has some major mental health issues.
What was Whaley thinking.
I think it was the Bucs with Winston ..... they sent a Bucs employee to follow Jameis home and scout him out for a few days. Like same plane ride home as Jameis and everything. |

I agree with you that fighting is going away. Face punchers for sure.
Adam did make a good point though:
Wilson cup
Reeves cup (2nd)
Maroon (cup)
Maroon - top regular season team for last year (tampa) signs him in the off season. Indicating that they were missing that type of player or style.
Watching the Sabres lose and get pushed around in their own building is really disappointing as a long time paying fan.
Aside from the winning with toughness arguement. It's entertainment - Boss34
There aren't any players that have star factor and toughness besides the TK brothers it's rare now

Gerbe - if it is a mental illness then, without a support system, anyone would struggle with getting help. In a lot of mental health cases, you have to have someone who is taking the lead for you. If you do not know him, do not f'n judge him. |

There may only be 7 teams in the lottery if they go with the 12 team per conference playoff format that has been gaining traction.
I've read multiple places saying Jarvis lacks elite speed and an explosive first step, but you said his skating ability is strong? - kingcong39
I read the top 6 teams from each division make it. Sabres would be in the playoffs. |

That is not the prevailing idea right now.
That was the original idea, but they've changed it as they don't want more deserving teams like the Rangers and Blackhawks being left out for garbage teams like the Sabres.
It also helps that the Rangers and Blackhawks are a much bigger draw nationally.
The idea they've been on for over a week now is the top 12 overall from each conference. |

Kinda of lame, sabres have played two less games than the 12th team in the Eastern conference |

Mahomes was a big boom bust prospect. He was no sure thing. Easy to look back at who makes it and judge. For every Mahomes there is a EJ Manuel too |

Risto and Sam will bring two first rd picks and give us approx 12-13 million more cap space depending on what sams contract would of been.
If picks flame out we are where we started anyway. They hit, Perrenial contender |

I’d move Risto for a first rounder yesterday if it was possible even if it was a late first.
Reinhart should be resigned or moved for a young promising forward like a Cirelli type not for futures. |

I'd be very surprised if they went with the "only 1 winner moving 4 spots up scenario"
From what I gather, a lot of GMs don't like that idea. So while I expect the lottery to be different, Id be shocked if it was just one lottery with limited movement.
Perfetti looks like he'll be a good one - Michael Ghofrani
I’m cool with there being 3 teams that move up,
but i think they should go back to the old way where u can only move up 4 spots
It dumb that teams like Philly & Jersey had narrowly missed the playoffs & still got to pick in the top3 bc of luck |

Not lame at all IMO. Sabres shouldn't have sucked ass the last month of the season before the stoppage in play.
They have zero leg to stand on. |

This has been my position as well. You really can't complain about getting "screwed" when you're tied for the 6th worst position in hockey |

I'll put it this way - if they were doing a 16 game playoff tournament and you're in 17th place with games in hand, yeah I totally get it. I would be pissed. When you expand the field to 24 and you're still not eligible, you probably just flat-out suck. Which, objectively, the Sabres do. They are ass. |
