I am still a bit surprised that, some of you still haven't met, especially when several of you live within a half hour or so, of each other.
If my memory serves me correctly, there is at least 8 of you that live in the Victoria area.
That is enough members to create your own gang.😁 - Reubenkincade

I do understand you like poking the bear, but I'm sure the response to the renounce your citizenship post was genuine, you're a closet yank that is seemingly "coming out", not that there is anything wrong with that.. - Makita
I’m a citizen of the world, I just happen to think there’s some great places and people in America. Being the third most populous nation in the world there’s also a whole lot of nutbars |

All countries have their nutbars lol...Canada is no better than the States there
We've really enjoyed vacationing in the States in the past 5 years. Seattle, Vegas X2, San Fran, Anaheim/LA, Arz and now we are looking at FLA or Hawaii. Some great people down there, cultures, food, lots of diversity. Alot of Americans are stereotyped because of the Trump hatred by the libtards lol |

I’ve travelled the world, so have you being a sailor I’d assume, I’m of the opinion there are multiple great countries on this earth....all have their issues, including ours, the USA is a great country. But not without its current issues. Four years of Trump doesn’t take away from its greatness.
The social media BS has a lot of people baffled, not unlike people who talk to Americans and think they know what it’s like there. Unless you’ve lived there I don’t think you have an informed opinion, despite how many friends or relatives you talk to. Just my opinion.
I’ve spent a lot of time in five countries, Canada, the United States, England, Spain and Oman, all of them are great and all of them have problems. America has so much diversity, it’s such a great place.
Canada’s nice, if you like vanilla - LeftCoaster
Ahem. I live in America, can I chime in?
America could be the best, I think they have the most potential to be the greatest/most aspirational... but it's just not going to happen any time soon. The country is so divided, such a lack of direction, so many social issues that haven't been dealt with.
That's not to say America doesn't have great people (from people dragging the world forward to salt of the earth folks) or great places (hell, I live in one). But overall, nah, America is losing its greatness.
I love Germany, think it's one of the best countries. I might have said this before – said it to my girlfriend enough times – that a huge difference between Germany and America is how they've dealt with their terrible pasts. Germany is honest and forthright in their history of Nazism, but America is covering up and shying away from their history of slavery and racism... if you've read about Ahmaud Arbery recently it's still stark and heartbreaking. |

Of course you can, and I agree, the US lost their way some time ago, however, there’s still pockets of great places and people. I just like to say stuff for dramatic effect.
In all seriousness though, Canada is no better, we’re losing our way in that we pander to the loudest groups, even if they’re the smallest, and give them what they want at the expense of the rest of our hard working population.
Canada has always been an export country, the things that built America and Canada into such great nations are slowly disappearing. Our resources and manufacturing are dying a slow death, the foundation of our beginnings. |

One of my wife's nieces had a cv19 test a couple of weeks back she was in the hospital for stomach cramps ( the runs) it cost her 7000 . Luckily she could afford it. |

This is interesting . Don't really believe it but we will see . Leafs actually spent 113 mil last year in cap. I knew they went to 95 mil . He says Ferland is on the list that Leafs might have interest in.

I have family that live down there. The wealthy ones love it, the working class struggle. One family is bi-racial and the stories of open racism are horrific. |

I think Ferland will play again, for a while anyway, so not really a candidate. Here’s the thing I don’t get...
They don’t really get a salary advantage by owning those players. Horton/Clarkson count against the $81.5m and then get moved to LTIR allowing the Leafs to go beyond the hard cap. The only advantage it creates for them is that they earn extra draft picks or whatnot for shelling out the $. |

Healthcare is certainly one of its issues for many Americans, however, that alone doesn’t equate to make it a terrible place. I would go out on a limb here and say a lot of Canadians don’t fully understand the healthcare system down there except the bits they read, and those are never positive pieces being reported.
Healthcare in Canada isn’t free, we are heavily taxed up here, I’ve wrote this before, depending on where you live, if you earned 90K dollars in both BC or Arizona you’re going to pay roughly 13,000 dollars less taxes in AZ, state and federal vs federal and provincial. There’s $1000 dollars a month you could spend on healthcare to get the same standard of healthcare we get here but many choose not to. |

They spent over a 110 mil in salary this year . Don't think other teams didn't take notice. I liked the way Jim used LTIR this year he was able to get Toffoli in even though we had cap problems .
I hope we keep Ferland it gives the team flexibility . We spent close to 3 mil over the cap maybe more. |

A lot of that overage is because they had huge bonuses to pay, and Hortons contract wasn’t guaranteed, so they had to pay out the full value rather than the majority being covered by insurance.
Guaranteed wasn’t the right word, insured. |

But you can kill people if they step onto your property. The pros far out weigh the cons. |
