Thank you for your condolences. Politifact is not the most dependable news source they twist things and label them as fact. Iâm not saying itâs some kind of scandal like theyâre twisting it to be itâs just how healthcare works. A hospitalâs revenue stream comes from reimbursement. When you go to the doctor whatever they do while youâre there is based on reimbursement and how much they can make while youâre there. Thatâs reality. Surgical procedures are altered to trigger different codes for reimbursement. I know that because thatâs literally what I get paid to do. Hahaha.
Maximizing a physicians RVUâs(revenue value units) and a hospitals reimbursement is a huge part of my job. These hospitals havenât been doing elective surgical procedures for up to 2 months now and thatâs where all of their money comes from. Their only revenue stream is literally from covid 19 right now. Believe me when I tell you if someone dies in a hospital in NY they are going to do everything in their power to label it as covid related. Any patient that goes into respiratory failure is automatically covid without being tested when 100âs of thousands of people would go into respiratory failure every year before covid 19.
Birx is already saying the mortality rate is AT LEAST 25% less then whatâs listed. You could most likely cut it in half IMO and I think weâll learn more to quantify that. The mortality rate as of now for people under 45 is .08. Reduce the numbers by 25% as Birx suggested and were down to .0078% by 50% and we're down to .006%.
Again, not saying the virus isnât real it is but the misinformation out there right now is like nothing Iâve ever seen in my life. Itâs like we have incarcerated Bob giving us information on Covid 19. - Cptmjl

Agreed. You canât shut down the country every time a virus sweeps through it. We didnât bat an eye lash for h1n1 and that was serious. The hospital I was working in at the time was overrun with patients. Didnât hear a blurb about it on the news as compared to today. Thereâs a lot to be said for these shut down measures may not be the right answer. There are just as many experts that completely disagree with them as there are that believe in them. You just donât hear from them because thatâs not what the media wants anyone to hear.
We flattened the curve. That was the result we were supposedly looking for to start reopening states. When did politicians get involved in physicians treatment plans or what meds they can prescribe? Itâs absurd whatâs going on. Now some politicians are saying there has to be a cure or vaccine in place. What if that takes a year, or more, or never happens? Just shut down till further notice? The goal posts keep moving and if anyone believes these decisions are purely based upon the publicâs safety dip your head in a bucket of ice you havenât been paying attention.
Look at LA theyâre shut down till august. Thatâs insane in relation to their numbers imo. The economic impact will be felt for decades from this. There has to be more thought into this besides âwe have to save lives!!!!â itâs impossible to debate that and that is by design of course. When they donât even know definitively that what theyâre doing right now is 100% the right thing to do.
This isnât a political debate. They need to eliminate that from the conversation to start making any kind of sensible decisions on what should or shouldnât be done. Unfortunately that will never happen in this climate. - Cptmjl
I agree completly and now they are saying that people staying home are getting it too |

Of course they are. Itâs the highest rate of infection. Even Cuomo is finally admitting to it. |

Or maybe it's Lou who is reluctant to sign any contracts until the NHL's future clears up. Who knows right now what the Islanders' revenue streams are going to look like when teams start playing again? |

Gotta think if this guy wants to play in the best league in the world he would have signed as soon as possible and as fast as possible with this pandemic (frank)ing with what money is available. Totally looking to me like he is playing the Isles for a big contract in the KHL and (frank) I hope not. |

If the league goes to a 24 team playoff here are the matchups from the athletic
Tampa, Boston, Washington and Philadelphia in the Eastern Conference, and St. Louis, Colorado, Vegas and Edmonton in the Western Conference would get a bye to the start of the normal 16-team playoff.
That would leave Toronto-Montreal and New York Rangers-Florida as the best-of-three matchups in the Atlantic; Pittsburgh-Columbus and Carolina-New York Islanders in the Metro. |

I would rather face anyone but Carolina in the first meeting. Islanders just have not figured out how to beat them. |
