Playoff idea.

That’s exactly what I said a month ago, except I said all 31 teams instead of only 24.

5 games, 9 days. Think about how many injuries there will be. Why not just pull straws?

Pffft, you never played 5 games in a three day tournament? Guess you were always on a losing squad...

We're talking pro's who have been off for months, how long is training camp, a week? These guys haven't had skates on in awhile. If it does happen I'll take a couple of long shots on my betting site. It will be a sh*t show.

Meh, the best teams will still be the best. Plus, I doubt they will seed teams based on the round robin alone. It will just be an opportunity to shuffle up/down a couple spots for the teams close in the standings. A hot goalie will make a difference, as always, and injuries will be the same for every team.

It will be stupid without fans, like watching a Panthers v Jacets game in Fla on TV.

I doubt any attempt at some form of a playoff will garner much of a tv audience.
I won't be watching.

Not as we get into the summer after what we've went through the last couple of months. I guess from a league perspective some $ is better than nothing.

I don’t think it’s even about revenue this season. They basically won’t be getting anymore. I think it’s more about honoring the existing TV contracts so that they don’t lose revenue next season.

As long as wave two isn’t catastrophic (everything shuts down again), I think people will be out and about, enjoying their summer. Yes, some people will tune in, but it won’t be the same. For instance, we will have it on at work, but will people be “watching”? Maybe a little.

Not necessarily. Sometimes a big loss is better than a small profit. Of course it all depends on how good your accountant is.

True hockey fans will watch one way or another. I see no point complaining if it does resume & deemed safe by authorities etc. I’m ready for the hit count to be healthy for the anticipated usual cornucopia of gripes. JB this the PO’s that etc etc etc.

The vets might suffer most while I expect the kids to be more resilient.

Why would anyone complain about the Canes cup (other than Oiler fans)?

Are you referring to the 04-05 cancelled season? No cup was awarded that season. The 05-06 season was played in full, started on time and finished on time. Different situations right?
