Sure and Antti played very well ,did he sustain it ,not really . And there is the crux of the problem sustainability .The HAWKS made a nice pick 2nd Rd. with Crow ,and after some time down on the farm they had a A + goalie to work with .
Now with Askarov you have a chance to grab a guy who COULD BE a above average to great goalie for the 10 to 12 years ,what you do with that blessing is up to the FO . But a very important brick is in place

An average goalie is enough on a great time. The Hawks aren’t event close to being an average teams. The only argument that can really be made is that a great goalie like Askarov would be wasted in Chicago.

Like Price in Montreal...

although, in the Hawks case, at least with Dach, Kubalik, D-Cat, Boqvist, Beaudin, etc we have some good young prospects to grow with a good young goalie. Hate the thought of a First Rounder on a goalie, but with our make-up right now. It just may be the exception to the rule.
