Vocal, MAGA hat wearing supporters who go to rallies? 100% Some other people are just not really paying much attention and are being duped, and they are not racist, but they are collaborators.
- James_Tanner

People who make statements like this are ignorant. 100%.

I see. So anyone who doesn't agree with what Jimmy Tanner thinks is a known racist.

All add,
So if Joe Biden is proven to have done sexual assault and you support him, you approve of sexual assault?
If you support Michael Jordan, you support people being jerks to one another? Come on Tanner.

It's not about what we think. It's about what you think. It's proven that you're a prejudicial person.

Then 99.99% of society are cowards. I remember when I was 13 years old and me and a buddy of mine were walking to the corner store. We saw and heard a man in his 30's literally manhandling the woman he was with. Slapping her, punching her and kicking her. We saw at least 10 people walk by them doing nothing. It's like they were saying "it's not my problem."

Now I'm 13 years old and this is 2 years before I began exercising vigorously. So there's no way I can beat this guy physically. He's much bigger and much stronger than me. But I know what's going on isn't right. I get in between him and the woman he's assaulting. I tell him to stop and what do you think happens?

He punches me in the gut and the wind is knocked from me. He grabs the woman and takes off in his car. I can only imagine what happened to her when they returned home. So in the end, did I do the right thing? Yes. Did I accomplish anything? No.

Cowardly acts don't make most people cowards. Brave acts usually make many people brave.

We are always more than the sum of our individual acts.

I was walking to a clothing store with my 4 year old daughter. As we're walking across the parking lot, a grown man smacked a kid (his son?) and said that he was going to "beat the poop out of you when we get home."

I wanted to say something. However, this was not a man thinking rationally, and there was no one else around to watch my 4 year old daughter, so I kept my mouth shut and kept walking, telling her that the man was being bad.

Since I did not verbally or physically intervene is the matter, I guess that makes me a coward per Tanner logic.

Oh, so now there ARE times when not doing/saying anything are acceptable? That's not what I've been reading in here.

Maybe people should think that, sometimes, there are reasons other than money and cowardice for people taking no action. Or just make irrational blanket statements.

Hell, even if I was by myself, this dude was out of his mind. For all I know, he's carrying or has a gun in his car, and probably wasn't about some random dude calling him out.

That was my original point. Who makes the rules on cowardice etiquette? Not me. Not you. Not Tanner. Every situation is different. Different criteria involved. Extenuating circumstances. Just because Tanner thinks someone is being a coward doesn't mean he really is one. Opinion isn't fact.

This place just gets so stupid. You know damn well there are grey areas, and when you pretend that your opponent in an argument thinks everything is black and white, all you do is make yourself look silly.

Like, you aren't arguing with me. You're arguing with the point you pretend I was making so you can look better. It's the worst play in the book.

I can think of a reason Sidney Crosby and McDavid don't want to get involved. Aside from them having no involvement to begin with, they're possibly scared some asshat journalist would try to take a comments out of context to make them look bad to get hits. Or maybe they don't wanna be at the forefront of a racial firestorm.

Doesn't make them bad people or cowards.

Your lack of self awareness rares it's ugly head again. You just posted a little bit ago that anyone who supports Trump is a racist. 100%.

It's not at all a pretend point. It's a proven point. Then you have the arrogance to call people stupid for calling you on it. The king of stupidity calling others stupid. Can't make it up. You don't give anyone who supports Trump the benefit of the doubt but you want others to give it to you. You need therapy.

An interesting thought experiment to try with internet activists is to look at some of their statements very carefully. Take this above nonsense for example; pretend for a minute that it was not spoken by a cynical, powerless, self-flagellating hypocrite but instead by a truly motivated person with actual political power and influence. Imagine what kind of leader that person would be if given the opportunity. And then bathe in the irony of how one of the main contentions of this speaker is to complain about leadership in the world.

Then examine the terminology closely and witness the undignified, cowardly libel towards people he has never met, provably knows nothing about and would certainly never say in person to any of them. Soak in the irony of how one of the main contentions of this speaker is to prattle on about the lack of courage in the world.

Tanner what do you do to make a difference in the world? This could be said differently, but the sentiment is true. I am prepared to offer my support for this blogger's implied initiatives - whether that be through charity donations or physical volunteer presence - if you can demonstrate any evidence of the good you have done for your local or larger community that warrants you to be a spokesman for these complex ethical problems.

If you cannot provide examples of your leadership, then kindly stop being a fraud by offering nothing but meaningless diatribes about concepts you know very little about and that you have done nothing to improve in your entire existence. In fact, you are the antithesis to any positive cause in the world so long as you refuse to stop castigating the world from your personal cesspool of resentment and phoney outrage.

What you do on a daily basis is intentionally make the world a less unified and less kind place, and you relish in the idea that you call that a profession. Shame cannot begin to explain what you should feel for your behaviour.

This place just gets so stupid. You know damn well there are grey areas, and when you pretend that your opponent in an argument thinks everything is black and white, all you do is make yourself look silly.

I am genuinely curious how you can explain away the cognitive dissonance that must occur from writing this blog and then making these statements. The mental gymnastics required would be deserving of an Olympic gold medal.

"Don't judge one based on the color of their skin", but it's perfectly ok to make sweeping assumptions/damning judgements based on the hat they wear...

It seems that many think fascist-like thinking and behavior is ok, as long as you're an "anti fascist". The ends justify the means, I guess.

I've been saying this for about a year now...Tanner, give 5% to charity. 1. You'll feel better. 2. You will be able to answer this question positively. Why don't liberals give to charity? It perplexes me.
