The far left criticizes others for exactly what they've been doing.

Thank you for saying"far." I know many liberal people who realize that people are free to make choices and have opinions, even if they don't agree with them.

And without specific evidence, I'm sure it goes the other way, as well.

The far left and the far right are both horrible.
Reasonable people on either side need to somehow come together and marginalize the influence of both.

I've made that mistake before and was rightfully called on it. Nothing wrong with being left or right of center. There are a number of liberals that I have great respect for. I don't always agree with everything they say but they are still in the realm of being reasonable.

My girlfriend is Mexican and we had been living in the states.
The amount of racism from governmental figures and officials is mind blowing to me. It's sad. It's disgusting.

Edit: happens in Canada too.
I see it every day. I'm white. My GF is black. Her parents are originally from Barbados. But she was born in Canada. She's just as much a Canadian as I am. Yet people will always ask her which country she's from. She'll always get pulled over when she's driving for no reason. She's always asked "can I help you?" when she's shopping as soon as she walks in the door and is followed the entire time. I don't have to deal with any of that. It's subtle racism. It's hidden but it's there.

My GF was taught by her parents how to deal with that. It's not right and it makes me mad. It takes alot of strength and courage for her to deal with that each day and I admire her for it. I guess my point is, why should she have to deal with it in the first place?

Any Canadian that tells anyone that there's no racism in Canada is ignorant. Would MLK be happy with what's going on today? Is there really much difference between 1968 and 2020?

You're right. It is disgusting. It is wrong. At times I feel helpless. Even brings tears to my eyes. But I can't go around beating up every racist I come across. All I can say is cherish your woman for the wonderful person she is. That's what I do. Life is too short. I never realized what true strength is until I met her. I thought I did. But I really didn't.

Click bait tanner at it again to get a paycheck. 63 million voted for him and he won 38 states.its going to be way more now because of pathetic people like you. 4 years of crying and you as a person have done nothing to change anything except brining up race. People bring facts and you cry racism. Look up the Ellis Island Award and see who’s getting that medal draped around his neck by no other than Jessie and Al. Google Ali, Rosa Parks and Trump and see what shows up. Look up the black girl Trump Dated. As far as I know Being in this country illegally isn’t a race, it’s a crime. You should be fired Tanner but guess what, you would be making 10 times more than whatever there paying you now. Hack and a fraud. Hope you not breeding. Have at it grammar police.

Here's a question anyone may answer. Growing up, one of my favourite TV shows was The Cosby Show. Now that we know what we know about Bill Cosby, does this make me a horrible person? Am I now known as a "known rape supporter?" How's this any different than Tanner calling people out as "known racists" for supporting Trump?

Vocal, MAGA hat wearing supporters who go to rallies? 100% Some other people are just not really paying much attention and are being duped, and they are not racist, but they are collaborators.
- James_Tanner

Your brainwashed, and you have been for years. 63 mil voted for him and he won 38 frickin states. Are you that blind or just so dumb that you keep telling yourself over and over that your right and 63 mil are wrong. Lol, it’s probably up to 70 mil by now.

I was walking to a clothing store with my 4 year old daughter. As we're walking across the parking lot, a grown man smacked a kid (his son?) and said that he was going to "beat the poop out of you when we get home."

I wanted to say something. However, this was not a man thinking rationally, and there was no one else around to watch my 4 year old daughter, so I kept my mouth shut and kept walking, telling her that the man was being bad.

Since I did not verbally or physically intervene is the matter, I guess that makes me a coward per Tanner logic.

- jmatchett383

Or the kid deserves a smack. If you tell me you never told your kid they might expect a severe punishment when they got home you are both a liar and a bad parent.

An interesting thought experiment to try with internet activists is to look at some of their statements very carefully. Take this above nonsense for example; pretend for a minute that it was not spoken by a cynical, powerless, self-flagellating hypocrite but instead by a truly motivated person with actual political power and influence. Imagine what kind of leader that person would be if given the opportunity. And then bathe in the irony of how one of the main contentions of this speaker is to complain about leadership in the world.

Then examine the terminology closely and witness the undignified, cowardly libel towards people he has never met, provably knows nothing about and would certainly never say in person to any of them. Soak in the irony of how one of the main contentions of this speaker is to prattle on about the lack of courage in the world.

This could be said differently, but the sentiment is true. I am prepared to offer my support for this blogger's implied initiatives - whether that be through charity donations or physical volunteer presence - if you can demonstrate any evidence of the good you have done for your local or larger community that warrants you to be a spokesman for these complex ethical problems.

If you cannot provide examples of your leadership, then kindly stop being a fraud by offering nothing but meaningless diatribes about concepts you know very little about and that you have done nothing to improve in your entire existence. In fact, you are the antithesis to any positive cause in the world so long as you refuse to stop castigating the world from your personal cesspool of resentment and phoney outrage.

What you do on a daily basis is intentionally make the world a less unified and less kind place, and you relish in the idea that you call that a profession. Shame cannot begin to explain what you should feel for your behaviour.

I am genuinely curious how you can explain away the cognitive dissonance that must occur from writing this blog and then making these statements. The mental gymnastics required would be deserving of an Olympic gold medal.

For those of you wondering, Tanner thinks Max Domi is a racist for comments he made following a cop-killing and act of terrorism with suspected ties to ISIS in 2017.

Hey Tony DeAngelo, stop supporting Trump or you're out of the league.

Perfect solution.

Tanner is one big Tooooool Baaaaag

I guess I understand Tanner's Click Bait blogs.

He can't get clicks talking hockey because he doesn't know anything about hockey. So instead, he writes decisive blogs about politics to get those click numbers up. He does have to make enough money to buy his kids an ice cream cone, ya know.

It's OK Tanner, post you address. I'm sure all of your "fans" will help ya out little buddy. A penny here....a penny there....it adds up

On my way home from hockey practice, when I was in middle school, my mom stopped at a Burger King . She gave me money and I went in. About 5 guys surrounded me and we're asking for my money, and threatening me. My mom must have seen it from car. Next thing I Know, my mom is in their faces , mocking them, calling them big tough guys. They left , and left me alone. My mom smiles at me, and that was that.

I couldn't believe she did that, and I never looked at her the same way again. One of my proudest moments as a son. Now that's courage. From that moment on, I always stood up for myself
