It doesnt matter what you believe. If you think it's a hoax, a conspiracy, an overblown flu, it doesnt matter. Listen to the health authority, respect people's space and social distancing, and dont do it for yourself, do it for other people.

It's a (frank)ing pandemic just due to the nature of how it spreads and it's much higher rate of death compared to most of the strains we've encountered.

I firmly believe that people's actions should reflect the current environment they live in. Everyone should practice social distancing and there really isn't a need for large crowds.

It's not like I hug our neighbours or anything but once my daughter hugged the 85 year old lady across the street. We've also had only 3 known cases in the province over the past 6 weeks I believe.

If I lived in Toronto, Montreal even Vancouver due to the population density I'd feel differently. If I had a cottage or summer residence I'd like to be able to go straight there and isolate for a week or two and I'd stay there for the summer at least, maybe the year.

Honestly I like to ask you these questions because you are so close to it and can give a different perspective. I might not agree with everything involving Covid so far but I respect what you are doing and All your efforts/sacrifice.

People are starting to rebel against measures put in place for your safety, things like this are popping up on social media in increasing numbers.

I could honestly share countless stories from my end users and it wouldnt even scratch the surface to how bad this disease is. The problem is, people dont want to hear them over and over again, and just by reading the room, I'd risk a few posters negating it with some basement suite article on how the media is over hyping it. My stance is that, despite how well we are doing in BC, lifting restrictions now is premature (and yes, even given the economy). Hockey to me shouldnt even be a topic of discussion as far as coming back, but its obviously being talked about and will most likely go through. If I had it my way, things would go back to the old "normal" 2 weeks post everyone receiving their vaccine.

Vantel is right ...people wanted to see larger numbers to justify shutting down our economy. Now we have growing unemployment, depression, and abuse. We have been flattening one curve, but allowing others to trend up.

What gets lost in all this are other numbers that have been rising ...suicide, domestic abuse, child abuse.... many of these stories will never get to be told.

The problem is, from what I’m reading, is there are, and always will be, sad stories about people dying alone as not everyone of the 57 million people who die every year globally are with immediate family.

This is similar to American politics where you stand firmly on one side or the other and both sides refuse to acknowledge or accept any opinion except their own.

My personal opinion is we should just listen to the experts and follow their advice.

I am actually surprised how fast pro sports is returning. They too seem to be in the I thought this would be worse group.

As for the vaccine, I’m kinda on the fence on this being a reality so soon. My son is fully vaccinated so I am not one of these anti-vax types. I just question how soon is too soon to be injecting something that we don’t know any long term results.

How long would you consider it to be enough time to see no ill affects for the vaccine to be safe ?

I don’t have an answer, I’m just a simple hardworking guy, as far as what is right and what is wrong. Truthfully I don’t think the medical experts do either, in terms of how this will impact things outside of their specific medical expertises.

They don’t know what will happen when you collapse economy’s, they just know and care about the virus, that’s their expertise.

This is unprecedented times, yes we’ve had pandemic’s before but not in modern times where economy’s are almost completely shutdown, I don’t know if anyone truly knows what the impacts will be beyond the medical portion of it.

Strange days...

I would be surprised if we saw a vaccine in 2021. You have to think, a simple flu shot is a projection on strain that is made 12-18 months earlier than the given season it's trying to vaccinate against. I am no expert, but from what I've been told from the HA, this vaccine isnt much different as far as time frame goes.

Even then, dont believe everything you hear. How many times have you heard that there is NOT a PPE shortage in Canada/BC? Take it from someone who orders it, we dont have ample supply today and wont have ample supply for months. Every day is a struggle to get it, everyday my clinical end users ask for updates/ETAs/clinically approved alternatives. Things arent so sunny on the healthcare side, despite what Trudeau and Bonnie+Adrian say (and I really like Bonnie and Adrian).

Truthfully what gets me is the planet was cleaning itself . Pollution ,smog, less traffic , water systems were cleansing and now we will be back to destroying everything again.

People can deny and call it crap but the images of seeing the Himalayas for the first time in decades and the canals in Venice. We really are our own worst enemy.

I wonder if humans will look at the globe in a different light regarding pollution? I doubt it, but I still wonder.

They should but they wont. The answer should have been shut down sports , concerts and mass gatherings until things were fixed but money talks.

Cigarettes and guns kill but are acceptable all because they generate money. We will pollute it again for sure. People will finally listen when it is near too late.

I know I am playing the back nine holes of my life and seriously had a fantastic run. I feel sorry for the next group that step on the course.

Should I feel guilty my wife and I went out for breakfast this morning to a newly re-opened local restaurant? We thought we’d support them by giving them business and on a $30 bill we (my wife) left the waitress $10.

Not at all. I think enjoy your time you are here.

I think I remember back in the 60s the earth reached 3 billion people. In 60 years we have more than doubled that to 7 billion. In the next 50 years we will probably hit 15 billion. Good luck feeding them all. Simple math.

Anyways enough of the doom and gloom . Accept that people are stupid and Party On Dude.

The cleansing of the world has been an interesting side effect of all this. It does show that with a little bit of effort we can change course and reduce our negative impact.
Hopefully this will put to rest the doom and gloomers that say we’ve destroyed the planet and any effort we do now is too late.

I honestly think it could change if there was a full effort but I don't think people will comply .
