pretty much a hat with raymond, rossi and stutzle on the three sheets of paper

drysdale is wild card along with askarov

- homiedclown

Some mocks having Drysdale going to Ottawa with the 3rd pick, which they got with San Jose, based on the idea they would get the best Center in Byfield and best defender in Drysdale in the same draft, along with still having the Islanders pick and 4 additional picks in round two.

With the amount of picks that Ottawa has in the first 3 rounds I think I might be $hitting myself after the draft depending on who they snatch up.

I envy their position for sure.

Crazy part is Buffalo was going down a similar road last year with regard to the Blues pick until they had their miraculous turnaround.

Thinking about a "best debut albums" list lately has me listening to things I haven't heard in awhile.

Buffaluck.

The first rounder was definitely a big aspect of that trade and the Blues success in making that a late pick definitely hurt.

It also doesn't help who Botterill selected with that pick.

Somebody like Arthur Kaliyev would sure have been nice.

this was their starting six:

dahlin-miller
McCabe-risto
Scandella-joker

john Gilmour was the seventh d-man...

first off, are you going to (could you) trade one of the injured?...and second, who amongst that group above are you going to trade...

and finally, this was your d-group starting in Rochester:

Redmond, MacWilliam, Nelson, Borgen, Fitzgerald, Bryson

make your preseason trades

- Michael Pachla

Bait never will take it.

They had plenty of Dmen to trade AND survive 1 month of injury from Montour and Pilut.

The issue was our dumbass GM played the short game rather than the long game by keeping too many Dmen and therefore locking himself in until Xmas AT THE EARLIEST, and more likely the TDL.

He should have, and I was vocal about it then, traded his excess Dmen before the season and taken the early hit to give his 10th, 1th and 12th Dnen a chance in the first 10 - 15 games.
Duh!

I really liked Brink a lot. Thought he’d go top 20.

C’est La Vie

He can redeem himself by going forward with our first 3 picks this year.

Worrying about the first 13 games of a season over the long term, especially when there had been a glaring issue ever since he who shall not be named was traded, seems incredibly shortsighted, but is totally on brand for a GM who has no seeming clear direction (take a look at the playing style of the defensemen he hoarded versus the coaching style Ralph employed; hint, they were totally different) and often seems to have a throw poop against the wall style.

After that, I feel like we're firmly at the Ottawa Senators "We're a team" level of depressing

Our own blogger wrote about Suomi on April 6th. See below.

- kingcong39

I went back and read the article after I originally posted it and realized that it was from March. I know it should be easier keeping track when you have a blogger that only posts once a week (at most), but honestly didn't remember his write up on Suomi.
