Well said. I can tell you why the MSM is the mouth piece for the Democrat party. They are against the president on anything and they truly are the enemy of the people with their propaganda.

Look at how they give Joe Biden a pass? If anyone thinks Joe Biden would do a great job or turn this country around or hold China accountable, I've got a bridge to sell you.

Trump is very straightforward like it or not he was elected because Obama biden record was awful , worst recovery in history, the middle east on fire and lie after lie .

To top it off the spied on a presidential campaign and incoming party. Corrupt as sin

With your own eyes? So many people with inside information on this site.

Look at the many people who took the drug and it saved their life and they all came forward to tell their stories. Plenty of doctors have had success, and their has been numerous studies with positive results, most people get a 2nd or 3rd opinion .

Unfortunately every medical professional and model has been dead wrong. Dr. Fauci talks out of both sides of his mouth one minute he insists on never ending lockdowns , then on Friday he came out and said he is against lockdowns.

Without a economy you won't have a healthy care system country. Remember they told us this was to flatten the curve and to not overwhelm our hospital system , now they moved the goal post to waiting for a cure.

- Taylorst1

Science is funny, Unlike religion or politics it follows facts and it doesn’t claim to know everything until they find undeniable proof. Why have the models been wrong? Could it have something to do with factors such as social distancing, wearing masks, isolating those who have tested positive? And conversely people who don’t follow the recommendations, who don’t social distance, don’t wear masks etc. The models are based on everyone following a certain set of criteria, which in the west, is unlikely to happen.

No one has moved any goalposts. Fauci is saying the opening of the economy has to occur in stages. If the disease starts breaking out it’s going to be very hard to shut down again be it in regions, in States or Nationally.

The economy is crucial no doubt but not at the expense of a runaway virus that can kill hundreds of thousands, if not millions. You notice that the countries with the highest COVID rates and deaths are the countries where the leaders are following politics and not science?

I'm assuming the Oilers blogger did some extra research he can back up his conclusions...he wrote this in his previous blog.

Sean Maloughney
An Oilers vs Hawks Playoff Series?
May 22, 2020, 3:35 PM ET

"DEFENSE

In terms of minutes played together at 5 on 5, here are the pairings we are matching up

Keith - Boqvist vs Nurse-Bear
Maatta - Koekkoek vs Klefbom-Larsson
Murphy - de Haan vs Russell-Benning

The Oilers were far more consistent with their pairings this season than the Hawks. The most minutes at 5 on 5 anyone on Chicago played with together was the Keith-Boqvist pairing at 378 minutes. Bear and Nurse played over 1100 minutes together at 5 on 5.

The Koekkoek and Maatta pairing might be the best pairing of them all however, in terms of being the best duo at both generating and prevent shots and goals but with after trading Gustafsson at the deadline, the Hawks third pairing is definitely the worst of the bunch."

- just69sayin

If Crawford is dialed in and the Oilers can't stop Patrick Kane from doing Patrick Kane things then the Hawks can do something stupid like back into the next round and keep JC employed.

Also, Strome should be over that ankle injury and maybe el gato got laid or really drunk during quarantine and cleared his head.

At least at one end of the ice the Hawks can be pretty dangerous in spite of whatever their coach does to the line up.

Yes these Democrat governors have moved the goal post , a deep depression causes poverty , food shortages and many other problems that are even worse than a virus that 99% of the people recover from. We don't stop people from driving because of car wrecks freedom is a choice and their is always risk . Why do millions of people flee foreign countries to come here for freedom.

You can choose to research yourself, or not, doesn't' matter to me.

But what would I know, I kind of like Nascar, and I no longer choose to live in IL so I am in the South and yes, I am missing teeth, had 4 wisdom teeth pulled when I was 14.

A little history lesson.

In 2013 a boy in Guinea was bitten by a bat, followed by five more fatal cases. Ebola was spreading into neighbouring Liberia and Sierra Leone. In July the president of the USA activated the emergency operations Center in Atlanta. The CDC immediately deployed CDC personnel to west Africa to coordinate vector tracing, testing, education, logistics and communications. Altogether the CDC trained 24,500 medical workers in Africa educating them on how to control and prevent the disease before a case left Africa

Working with the UN and WHO the US president ordered the rerouting of travellers from Africa to specific US airports equipped to handle mass testing.

In he USA 6,500 people were trained through mock outbreaks and practice scenarios before a single case hit America.

On September 30 2014 the US gots its first Ebola case The man from west Africa managed to get past the the net and was the hospitalized in Dallas. He was immediately isolated but died a week later. Two nurses who tended him contracted Ebola but later recovered. The protocols worked, it was contained.

Ebola is more contagious than COVID19 and it’s effects are far worse.

Now tell me which of those measures for virus control were followed for COVID19?

You have heard the expression "the truth hurts" and "you can't handle the truth?"
You see & hear only a fraction of the misinformation and bs each day; it is an inherant part of our lives. Now
I realize this pertains more towards the political landscape and the reporting of the news. What I want to look more closely at is what the heck was Pulford so adamant about Mike Smith that he was on a crucade to have him dismissed? I perused The Athletic article. Maybe I should look more closely at it. Pulford was really irate - deservedly so or not?

Well one problem is that the US was never (and still has not been) allowed access to the source of the outbreak. The WHO and China (whether on purpose or simply negligent - we don't have all the fact on that because we cannot investigate) were not transparent on this at all.

As far as the response, at the National level there were definitely missteps, and the guy at the top of all of this is not very good at speaking clearly enough (and without self-aggrandizement) to properly get a point across (in my opinion). That said, there is little reason for each state to follow the same protocol. NY is uniquely horrible in this case because of the fact that they are so dependent on public transport with pack a lot of people into an enclosed space. One cough or sneeze in there can infect dozens of people. Montana, much less of an issue.

Considering the demographics of the deaths, I would think that locking down and protecting the nursing homes and those with health problems would have been the best course of action (and not necessarily locking everyone in place). There is definitely some hindsight being used there.

End of the day, regardless of the national response, there still would be immense sickness and death in the US because we were not warned early enough about the threat.

Who would you pair him with to be the most productive? I want to believe that ADB, Dach, Kane would be a good line, but I just see them getting pinned in their own end for long stretches. Kind of like when they were with Strome, but not quite as bad.

That's forever ,this could be temporary if people were not so me me me all the time . I am off track I hate this political BS on the hockey site ,but I guess it comes with the territory

JC will get fired by half this board for winning too many games and ruining our draft choice and by the other half for not winning enough. Either way this board fires him.

Well, yeah. Heck, I fired him twice this morning on principle alone.

I'm interested to see which teams come back the best. Will it be the younger teams (maybe they are able to get their bodies up to speed faster?), or the older teams that just know how to prepare and work more on instinct?

Either way, assuming this 24 team deal is the actual plan they use, I hope the Hawks win as many games as possible. Worry about trades and getting different/better picks in the offseason.

You’re right, the US and world would not have been allowed into China and China wasn’t upfront with anyone about the problem. But the president was warned in January and instead of acting he pulled a China and denied there was an issue. It wasn’t until March anything was done. Other countries had similar lead time and followed protocols established by the USA to minimize the impact of the virus. After China the US has only one person, or Administration, for the fact the USA has done the worst job in the world, of countries who report accurately and truthfully.
