So what do you bet both eastern and western conference 'Hub Cities' will be in the US? - dbot
I think they probably will be, one because restrictions are more relaxed in the US, and also because of potential border jumping. |

always back to the few complaints I hand out, yes it applies, I have stated I am not a fan of a few of the coaches, especially Green.
Rationally thinking by me is that Green hasn't fostered any talent out of any young players, he has actually hurt Virtanens development, same as Gaudette, the guy couldn't line match to save his life. The team excelled in spite of him not because of him. I'm surprised he hasn't placed Boeser on the forth line and given him 7 mins a night, but it's going to happen because Green is over his head.
Well that actually felt good I haven't complained about Green in a few months.
Rationally thinking of course - Makita
Everyone has their opinions, we are all Canuck fans, the problem is that the people that don't like Green always are beaking off, ad nauseam.
There are quite a few people that like what Green has done, but you don't see them in here or anywhere beaking off that he is a good coach.
It s the same in all walks of life, complainers like to complain...loud and proud. |

Now that the Canucks can call up all the fringe players from the Comets, think of all the useless wingers Green will be able to put on Horvat's line while putting top 6 players in the bottom 6... Green is probably thinking he can't lose now.
I worry he spends the play in round treating it like camp in September. Trying to figure out who has made the next step. Waiting for guys who shouldnt even get a look right now to "make the team". Giving young guys the chance... while the Wild just play the team who was formed in Oct.

Sounds like they want 2 hub cities to play out the entire playoffs.
I wonder if they'll choose a quieter, colder US site.
St Pauls and Columbus?
or if they're not concerned about temperature, i could see Vegas in there. |

Ah, I see, that didn't seem rational.
And please name the people that are always beaking off about Green, 2 posts in 3 months is not always beaking off. |

Does this apply to all of the poopty GM's we've had over the years?
Benning has done some good things and continues to but he also has done some bad and continues to.
I don't think anybody is calling for his head this year, especially given the circumstances. Maybe had the team fizzled out an missed the dance the voices would be a little louder.
I think voices will start to get quite loud if the team finishes this season and goes another without showing much progress. - golfingsince
Now that is a fair take on it. Beats the incessant pouting & whining. Cannot have constant turnover & believe it’s the simplistic answer. We needed a rebuild & infusion of elite youth JB has done that. Trading & UFA signings are secondary to that & is the next evolution. JB’s track record started off rocky but Miller & Pearson & Toffoli are good signs. On coaching it comes down to who can get more out the roster than Green is? I prefer the associates to be changed for starters if anyone goes. |

A very strong negative to a Canadian city being a hub city is the 14 day quarantine. - VANTEL
Then both in Canada. Better than the US with their issues of containment. |

I guess if one conference was in USA, and one in Canada, there would have to be a isolation period for everyone that has to cross the border for the final.
More gong. |

I criticise Green maybe a couple of times a month. That is hardly the flip side to the constant female doging about Benning day in and out.

After watching the Bettman video, i still don't really understand the draft.
I'll wait for Carol to explain it tomorrow. |

15 team lottery.
Teams A-H (8-15) if they win any of the top 3 picks there is a 2nd lottery for them as to which letters they get. If the bottom 7 get picks 1/2/3 then no need. |

Vancouver has had their fair share of them (sh!tty GM's). and I agree with you about Benning being both good and bad. No one is perfect.
This whole discussion was centered around Benning being in the hot seat, I don't think he is in a hot seat. Sure he has tried things that he probably wished he hadn't but he has also accomplished some good things along the way.
And there are multiple factions calling for his head, even before Linden got fired (err, resigned), and it has been going on daily.
I think you're right about voices getting quite loud, I had them as a bubble team this year, and they should be a sure thing next year. |

On a different note...
If there was no loser point would the PO format be much easier to decide? |
