It’s going back a lot of years, and the result I think has skewed our memory, but wasn’t there a lot of optimism among the fan base at the time of the signing? Canucks were bringing in one of the games all time greats, and the player largely responsible for their defeat only a few years earlier in the SCF.

100% Quinn was the ultimate builder he had so much success with trades, signing and just generally building are contending team.

His drafting was less than remarkable though, why can’t we ever find a guy who is good at trades signing and drafting?

He said gate revenues generate around 60 % of all revenue.

He is usually very reliable so when he speaks I listen to what he has to say.

First half of the book is dedicated to his upbringing and the second half to his hockey career. TBH I found his upbringing to be more fascinating than the hockey stuff because we’ve heard so much about that already. Men were really raised differently then, especially Irish catholic men. lol. Talk about school of hard knocks.

I assume you mean Mccabe?

Burke was determined to make that trade no matter what and he confirms it by always repeating his quote that "he wasnt leaving the draft floor without the Sedins". I think he would have found another way if Mccabe wasnt on the team.

Burke also talks about how close he was to obtaining the 1st overall to go with the 2nd and 3rd and it was a blessing that it fell apart as time ran out. Stefan was a bust. Sedins are 1st ballot hall of famers. It all worked out beautifully in the end.
