main conclusion is that we all should be happy not to live in the US of A, but in Canada / Europe..

while it is clear that the death of George Floyd was a blatent case of police brutality, what were the reasons given that this was linked to racism?

I always struggle to understand why people draw conclusions that might not necessarily help their argument.. (the argument of needing to get rid of police brutality in the US).

Since not living in the US (/North America) I clearly miss some context here.

There are no reasons given at this point that this single action was the specific result of a racist cop deciding to go out and choke a black guy to death. The reactions of American blacks probably have a lot more to do with how they feel whenever they deal with the police in their country or whenever they see another black guy choked to death or shot in the back in self defence. Just a guess though since those are things I’ve never experienced.

what if the victim was some asian dude? still racism?
if the victim would have been a white guy - all of a sudden that's 'normal' police brutality?
what if the victim had been a woman - then a clear case of mysogeny?

fact is there was a clear case of police brutality.
the rest is all speculation until some additional facts become available.
