It's a hockey nickname...essentially the only other option is Barzer right? If it was football or basketball it would be mb13. Sports nicknames were awesome prior to the 90s. After that it was just lazy, uninspired or a weiner trying way too hard. Sad really

I don't mind them asking, wanting more, but there's a way, there's a time. that guy for years each time I see him he's always complaining, not once did I see him be positive about something. not the case with other union reps we see on tv.
now he's complaining schools can't use ventilators because it's 30+ degrees for 3 days.

But fans really know the players, we're all close buddies. In all seriousness though I often see people refer to Gallagher as Gally, Lehkonen gets Lehks, etc...part of it may just be laziness in writing out the whole name...the other part a term of affection. Doesn't make it any less cringe worthy, but that's where I see it coming from. It's also why I like players with a name like Domi, it's like "try and make a lazy nickname outta that". Maybe Domer? Just glad at least one good nickname in Tuna. Jesus Price isn't bad, sacrilegious and all that but the (frank) do I care. Meat was funny too I guess.
