This is probably a good thing. I'm sure the competition will be higher in Liiga than UConn and it's a 1 year deal.

It's definitely a good thing. UConn is still a relatively-new program and just isn't on par with the rest of the established big Hockey East schools. It should be interesting to see how he does playing in a top pro league.

Yea so if they start it in december it ends in what july or August? Then theres no offseason next year or are we shifting the season permanently?

I’d rather a shorter regular season myself, but I get that the NHL doesn’t wanna lose that kind of revenue.

I like everyone else would really like to watch some hockey but I think they should’ve just tanked the season and started it in October if all was clear. I guess they could shrink the off-season in consecutive years to get the season back to a normal time frame again but I just think this is going to be kind of half arsed imo.

Shrinking consecutive offseasons means less recovery time and more injuries to me. Is that worth it idk

Yea that's a possibility it will hurt a guy like ovie having a shot at the goal record but what can you do

Well that’s part of the reason and thought process why I was fine with scrapping this season. It’s going to have a ripple effect (like everything else going on with this virus) on coming seasons. I’d rather just rip the brains aid off. Take the hit now and move on.

Like I said of course I can’t wait to watch hockey I just don’t think what we’ll get will be worth the potential long term effects on the game.
