Under the MLB plan, Lester forfeits $22.5 mil. of his $27.5 million salary. I can't see the MLBPA going for that. Owners are saying their losses for playing the season is $4 billion. - LAHawk
Baseball is losing a staggering amount of money. |

Hawks are winning the Cup. Get you bets in now. Crow is gonna go beast mode.
Fun Fact. Only one state has met the criteria the federal government laid out for opening. Despite all the pleadings of the Mango Mussolini, a few haven't even met two.
Whateves. Live you life but stay the (frank) away from me. Not because of the virus. I generally dislike people anyway. |

I would figure you would be ecstatic right now. The Hawks may possibly play again this year, and Smith (from all accounts I've seen) will be on the shelf. |

They try and pull this bull crap and something happens and they have to shut down .Then what next year is in jeopardy .Big waste of time money and possibly medical expertise and equipment .Just to try and have a Cup winner ,bogus no problem shutting it down to shove a salary cap down the players throats.

I would guess Crawford would be in hungry mode, playing for next years contract (and to a lesser extent Strome, Kubalik, and the other RFA's). - LAHawk
Great point. Crawford is always playing like no tomorrow.

I think I read in the Athletic that, with the expected timeline, de Haan should be recovered enough to play. I would love it if he could, but I personally would hope that he would take extra time to heal up and strengthen the muscles and ligaments around the shoulder. |

Yeah, why would I have any concern for one of the better d-men on our team coming back after multiple surgeries on the same shoulder... after I've gone through a similar surgery and know that it takes longer to actually build up the strength and stability in the joint... I guess personal perspective isn't allowed here unless it's yours?
Also, are you serious? Do you really think people are going to "go away" and not comment because you said so? Crack a cold one and relax bud. |

I'm a die hard Hawks fan. I apologize if my comments arent adding to the conversation. I'm annoyed with a few posters who keep jamming up the conversation with a bunch of negative comments and nonsense. i guess it got the best of me. Maybe I'm the problem. Wouldn't be the first time lol |

Those were 2 different points. I have said all along I will watch.
No Smith makes sooo much better. Now if we can get rid of a couple more guys, all the better |

I just heard something on the SCORE that under the MLB salary structure for this season Mike Trout would "only" make a bit more than 5M. Which would all would take for sure. However, he was due to make 37M for this season.
No one is going to feel sorry for him but taking a 22M cut? I don't think many would be pleased with that. The owners really are trying to put the players on the defensive. Kinda bullpoop to me at this time. Now would be the time to build a strange unified front but rich guys gotta rich guy I guess.
I heard that and it definitely sounds like baseball is a long shot for this year. |

I wonder how it will work for the NHL. Don't they normally just get game bonuses instead of any structured salary? Will the play-in games be considered "Play-off games"? Obviously a lot of work left to be hammered out. |

They’ll figure it out between the league and the PA - they possibly can get half of a season in, players won’t get half-salary, but won’t take as big a haircut as the current proposal allows.
Losing the revenue from fans will hurt a lot, but unlike hockey, a much higher percentage of revenues comes from TV and radio - national and local. And they need programming. |

They either get paid twice a month or every 2 weeks during the season. Its one of those two. Can't recall which one, tho.
No pay during the POs except for a per diem IIRC.
