I'm not seeing the benefit of changing coaches right now. If you bring in a coach who gets the team playing above their skill level and gets a few extra wins here and there, how does that help the team long-term? Detroit is cursed in the lottery, we always move backwards, but there is a huge difference between a 1 or 2 pick, versus a 6 or 15 or 16 pick. Even if they drop to 4 in each of the next two years, that should be two high end players. They do not have a legitimate future super star on their team, and the reality is, they need one. Not just for what he'll do on the ice, but for what he'll do for excitement, tickets and merch sales. I think the 2020 draft class has 3 kids who can be super stars, the 2021 class right now looks to have 2, but a few more could develop. They need one in one of the draft years, and preferably, they need two or three.
