If Sanderson gets selected in the top 10, I truly believe it’s because a team needs a d, not because it’s BPA. I’ve got at least 11 guys I’d put before him.

I feel like Mtl would get him, wherever they land.

If Ottawa lands pick #5, #6, and they were deciding between Sanderson and Askarov...

Askarov.

Right now in my opinion there’s an undisputed top 8:
(In no particular order)
Lafreniere
Byfield
Stutzle
Drysdale
Rossi
Holtz
Raymond
Perfetti

With the exception of askarov as I could see him going as high as 7th to buffalo anyone else would be a reach

The next tier in no particular order is 9-11:
Quinn
Askarov ( I don’t think he’ll slip pass all of buffalo, habs or Chicago)
Sanderson.

Those 3 should go in any order in those slots depending on the team but could be pushed out out by one or both of lundell/gunler. Two players with enough skill to arguably crack the top 10 but enough concerns to push them to late teens

I get the league needs to recoup revenue, but changing the format of the playoffs and the amount of teams that have a shot at it diminishes it. If a team like (God forbid) Montreal makes a run..how do we not put an asterisk next to them?

I guess what I was trying to get at in the initial post is that I think that awarding a cup with an asterisk is less controversial than the ramifications if they were to cut the season short.

A cup is only something we have to show for this year while the resolution if they were to cancel could leave an impact to last a decade.

For example Jersey has Vancouver’s first round pick if the Canucks make the playoffs. They both have an argument to keep it as the Canucks were in a playoff spot but the Canucks could also say well the playoffs never happened so technically we didn’t make it. Now if that player selected goes on to be a Matt barzal, Thomas chabot, or Kyle Connor (selected one that range in a draft as deep as this one) I would find that to be more controversial than a cup with an asterisk.

Heck you don’t think us in Calgary are pissed that we won’t get a 3rd round pick in the lucic deal even though if they completed the season the condition probably would have been met

There were a few low key gems coming out of the interview with Dorion last week. Teams are allowed to carry a maximum of 50 contracts. Appears the Sens are going to give priority to moving up the kids already in their system. Dorion says he is unlikely to pursue UFA or trade deals during the off season.

I was a bit surprised as I thought they might offer up their 3rd, 1st round pick or 2nds for some strong roster ready NHL talent. But, apparently, Dorion wants to stick with all his picks.

The loser teams are talking with the league about their own 7 team tournament involving all the playoff outsiders. Would give players a conditioning opportunity, Also would provide some relief for those fan bases that may go upwards of 10 months without having any games involving their own team.
