Mild wild, unedumcated guess is this (all times EST):

1 game at 4 pm. maybe a little later.

2 games at 7 pm (maybe stagger them by a half hour, in the hopes that people channel hop in between periods)

1 game at 10 pm.

Although I could certainly see them doing no overlaps, and just play three games a day. I'm not going to do the math, but I'm guessing this would add 3-4 days for the first two rounds.

But to directly answer your question, not a hope in hell.

They need to maximize TV ratings. No way people will watch at those times.

They will play the games when Sportsnet and NBC want them played.

Strategy might work if his base equaled Democrat’s base. Black vote sitting at home killed Hilary. Do you think any blacks are fretting over Biden’s “if you vote for Trump you ain’t black” quip right now.

If these riots in urban cores scare suburban mom’s who are now moving away from Trump and towards Biden, maybe this helps. We’ll see but I think the prevailing view is that people are sick of the bullpoop and that they equate the bullpoop with Trump. Nobody is more normal than Biden.

The one thing I always hate about being on the West Coast: sports ends by 10 pm. Boom, thanks for coming out, you are done.

I remember in 2009, we had rented a place in San Diego (depth of the US depression - 3 bedroom, 3 bath on Pacific Beach, bordering the Pacific Ocean - $175 franking dollars a night - bwa ha ha ha ha ha ha ha!).

Anyhoo, the entire family goes to bed. Wedgie sneaks out, walks down the boardwalk to a sports bar. it's about 9:50 pm. Order a beer, ask the guy to put a game on - any game. I'm guessing he figures I'm from the East Coast, as he laughs and shakes his head.

I sat alone for the next couple of hours, watching basketball highlights on ESPN.

I hate basketball.

I can't see them starting any games that early.

Remember: this is 100% about TV ratings. You can't get people to watch the games at 1 pm (except weekends, of course).

Or maybe you misinterpreted what I was stating:

It doesn't matter where the games are played. If the Leafs were playing the Lightning, you don't have to play it at 7 pm on the East Coast. You can play it at 4 pm on the West Coast - as long as it's played at 7 pm EST, the actual location of the game doesn't matter.
