The "knockoffs" is in reference to the jersey worn by the venerable Danny Gare for an alumni event. The misspellings were a reference to the goofs on jerseys for Mike Robitaille and Dave Andreychuk. While the optics are bad, Gare's jersey was one he purchased on his own, Robitaille's was also his own and the team caught its misspelling of "Andreychuk" and replaced the jersey at that event. |

Jack is making $10m aav for six more seasons...jack is getting a $7.5m signing bonus next season no matter what happens. Jack is a well-paid professional athlete who signed a long-term deal and he seems like a professional in that he understands the team and the contract he signed.
He's highly competitive and he wears his frustration on his sleeve. Does that mean he'll be asking for a trade? Possibly. But pushing that narrative does no one any good.
Buffalo fans helped run Barrasso out of town and like someone mentioned, I'm also of the belief that fans played a part in the ROR departure.
Continuing with the "Jack is unhappy and will soon want out" narrative is nothing but negativity that doesnt help the situation at all.
Just sayin. |

“What I love about Risto is he doesn’t hold back on anything,” Krueger said. “He tells you the truth all the time, so I’ve really enjoyed working with him this year. When I began coaching him and I was the leader of the room, he was somebody that wanted to be traded. Now he has embraced our path and he was all-in on our pathway this year.“ |

Pach, do you honestly believe that the fans worring about Jack's tipping point will actually in fact result in him wanting out? I don't, he's smart and will figure it out for himself, not because fans are wondering about it.
The difference here, as I see it, is the others were the target the fans wanted out of Buffalo. That is NOT what is happening with Jack's situation here, fans want him to stay but worry the ineptness of the organization from top to bottom will cause a smart guy to wake up from his frustrations and demand to get out. |

Risto should not be on this team. He could get us top 6 help. We have enough defense.
Big head is too scared or incapable of doing his job.

Him or Montour are gone this off-season, but Botts has a lot to prove this off-season. I have defended some of the stuff he has done, thought he was handed a poop show but really hasn't done much to change that, some of his moves have hurt more than helped, but some blame has to be put on players for lack of Heart. He has a chance to flip the script this year, hope he has the BALLS to do it. |

fans emotions are on display at keybank and on social media, and dating back to barrasso, at the Aud...
the fans were wrong with barrasso, they were wrong with ror...they were (are) wrong with a lot of things from booing miller to rooting for the sabres to lose to constantly feeling as if the sports gods owe them something and taking it out on players that don't meet their expectations...
do you remember not so long ago when Eichel was touted more for being like jack echl than a superstar?...I do...it's an incredibly fickle fan base and every player notices it to some extent...they hear the quiet at KeyBank and they also notice what happens on social media they talk amongst their teammates and amongst their fellow nhl'ers throughout the league

just curious, if he's not good enough to be on a 25th-place team, how is he good enough to get you top-six help?

it's ironic that the sabres need more heart and that risto is the player that fans want to move...the guy has been engaged nearly 100% of the time and he's done everything asked of him...he's worked hard in the off season to get in the best possible shape to shoulder the load that was foisted upon him by every coach he's had...yet, people clamor for heart and want him moved |

Yeah, seems like people think you throw crap out there and gold is coming back. It's gonna take a package and player that we don't want to lose to bring back the kinda help we need. We may get lucky and a team may need to move a good player because of cap implications, but can you wait on that. |

risto had his best season as a sabre since his part-time debut as a rookie...I expect that if he stays he'll build on it due in large part to ralph |

I really don't want him moved, but him in a package might be the only thing that gets you anything worth a damn. I like Risto and feel he was used wrong since he got here. |

I agree Pach's, really wasn't talking about Risto in that scenario. Just what players on a 25th place team. |

I think that botts could get this team to a good place with two moves for the top-nine:
--you know my thoughts on Henrique, not because he's some superstar or analytical god, but simply because he's very competent and solid in a no. 2 center role and he might be available
--the other is josh Anderson, who i'd forgotten about until someone here mentioned the sabres were close to attaining him
Olofsson - the disgruntled superstar who will soon ask for a trade - skunk
albatross contract - Henrique - mojo
kahun - cozens - Anderson
the bottom three I couldn't care less about right now but for poop's and giggles:
Simmonds - Asplund - Okposo (unless there's a compliance buyout)
lazar/ whomever
mitts to the minors on a two-year, one-way contract to completely reset his development with the thought that he will be a part of the top-nine in 2021-22 |
