time for a walk (or maybe even take a hike )

I dunno guys. I think we see some screwed up stuff happen with the Sabres now that Mr.Pegula stepped back.

"Dragon Lady" hired a crew to clean house with the Bills, you think she wouldn't do that same with the Sabres?

Uncle Terry is probably going to pass soon, anyway, and we will have her running this town.

I could see Eichel's demands being met with a trade out of town sooner rather than later if things completely fall off the rails this summer/next season.

What is best for the franchise as a whole? What would Eichel realistically fetch after demanding a trade and it becoming public? How about Seattle? Would Skinner waive to go to Seattle? If we get a compliance buyout, should it be used on Skinner instead of Okposo?

What to do with Ristolainen? If Eichel wants out, should we send them out together?

Eichel and Ristolainen to CGY for a 1st, Gaudreau and Monahan? Am I over/undervaluing anything here?

I think that botts could get this team to a good place with two moves for the top-nine:

--you know my thoughts on Henrique, not because he's some superstar or analytical god, but simply because he's very competent and solid in a no. 2 center role and he might be available

--the other is josh Anderson, who i'd forgotten about until someone here mentioned the sabres were close to attaining him

Olofsson - the disgruntled superstar who will soon ask for a trade - skunk
albatross contract - Henrique - mojo
kahun - cozens - Anderson

the bottom three I couldn't care less about right now but for poop's and giggles:

Simmonds - Asplund - Okposo (unless there's a compliance buyout)

lazar/ whomever

mitts to the minors on a two-year, one-way contract to completely reset his development with the thought that he will be a part of the top-nine in 2021-22

- Michael Pachla

I'm down for every bit of this.

But if I could tinker just a little bit,

I would keep the 1 and 2 LW almost interchangeable until we see which permutation is best for BOTH of the top lines; and

I would switch Lazar and Asplund.

Him or Montour are gone this off-season, but Botts has a lot to prove this off-season. I have defended some of the stuff he has done, thought he was handed a poop show but really hasn't done much to change that, some of his moves have hurt more than helped, but some blame has to be put on players for lack of Heart. He has a chance to flip the script this year, hope he has the BALLS to do it.

I really don't want him moved, but him in a package might be the only thing that gets you anything worth a damn. I like Risto and feel he was used wrong since he got here.
- Buff36

Are you extending him in 2 years?

If you are not, now is the time to move him.

He is part of the rotten core, as is Reinhart, and the core needs a shakeup.

Pach used to love to write viva la core about Roy, Pominville, etc.

That core at it's worst was infinitely better than this core has ever been, and yet we don't want to shake up this core when it is obviously necessary?

One small question: what assets are you using to get the pair of Henrique and Anderson?

Well said, on all points. Hate to think that JB just extends this core and waits on Risto until his contract year.

I am really not talking about cap space, he hurt himself in that aspect, I am talking about viable prospect pool that was basically empty. Contracts were brought in because we really had no prospects to fill positions that they should have been filling.

Of course the core needs a shakeup, and certain players are part of that, but how much does moving say Rhino piss your Captain off even more than he already is. I am all for a shakeup, just pick the right ones.

Good post mike

Henrique and josh Anderson are 2 guys who should be realistically available, without buffalo giving up the future.

Mitts and a 2nd for Anderson
Turns into a 1st if he scores 30 goals or 70 points

Larsson rights or a 2022 2nd for henrique

honestly those 2 additions up front would not cost us much

miller or mccabe
a d prospect, a second or third rd pick and maybe a goalie prospet

can always add the rights to the legend casey nelson for a sweetener

way too much for anderson

give them miller or mccabe, and a pick
or a sabres d prospect and a pick

no chance he gets casey , let alone casey plus

can probably get henrique for a 5th and an ok prospect say davidsson or borgen

Both trades seem like low risk, botterillish moves.

Probably tmgm guy heading out. (Borgen) ???

Probably right.

Casey to me has the value of a late first ish?

Anderson has more value in my opinion. So I added the 2nd?

Let's keep Risto again I'm sick of this ...

All he does is ask for trades and they try to make him happy smh

- gerbe75pts

you need to be more sensitive for those that speak a different language

kid is frustrated, feels he is part of the blame, sick of losing

there is a reason every coach here loves him, as well as every gm

he survived 2 trade deadlines and a draft for 1 reason

they do not want to move him

I am all for trading who ever it takes to make us better. And I think Jack has little say in trades, but could have a say with certain players. There is nothing that can be said that makes any sense for Rhino not being dropped to the 2nd line to try and help to get Skinner going, other then Jack saying something, it just doesn't make sense.

Are you extending him in 2 years?

If not, why wait when you need forward help so badly and he's a viable trade chip?

He's also part of the core that is in dire need of a shakeup.

Finally, that doesn't say a whole hell of a lot about the past and current coaches and GM's that they love him.

It would be another example of mishandling the team makeup by Botterill if he extends the core and waits to decide on Ristolainen.

Jack is making $10m aav for six more seasons...jack is getting a $7.5m signing bonus next season no matter what happens. Jack is a well-paid professional athlete who signed a long-term deal and he seems like a professional in that he understands the team and the contract he signed.

He's highly competitive and he wears his frustration on his sleeve. Does that mean he'll be asking for a trade? Possibly. But pushing that narrative does no one any good.

Buffalo fans helped run Barrasso out of town and like someone mentioned, I'm also of the belief that fans played a part in the ROR departure.

Continuing with the "Jack is unhappy and will soon want out" narrative is nothing but negativity that doesnt help the situation at all.

Just sayin.

- Michael Pachla

It's time for a shakeup, something that opens the eyes of every player, something that shows them that upper echelon is thinking about the team, goes a long way in restoring confidence.

fans emotions are on display at keybank and on social media, and dating back to barrasso, at the Aud...

the fans were wrong with barrasso, they were wrong with ror...they were (are) wrong with a lot of things from booing miller to rooting for the sabres to lose to constantly feeling as if the sports gods owe them something and taking it out on players that don't meet their expectations...

do you remember not so long ago when Eichel was touted more for being like jack echl than a superstar?...I do...it's an incredibly fickle fan base and every player notices it to some extent...they hear the quiet at KeyBank and they also notice what happens on social media they talk amongst their teammates and amongst their fellow nhl'ers throughout the league
