Good post mike
Henrique and josh Anderson are 2 guys who should be realistically available, without buffalo giving up the future.
Mitts and a 2nd for Anderson
Turns into a 1st if he scores 30 goals or 70 points
Larsson rights or a 2022 2nd for henrique - Boss34
For a guy with a bad wing?
Yeah easy pass.

honestly those 2 additions up front would not cost us much
miller or mccabe
a d prospect, a second or third rd pick and maybe a goalie prospet
can always add the rights to the legend casey nelson for a sweetener - homiedclown
Henrique is a cap cut and shouldn’t break the bank(in terms of assets).
Anderson is another buy low guy. 3rd and a prospect(maybe turns into a 2nd) should be more than enough. |

Getting excited to be watching playoff hockey again - specifically overtime. Let's hope it really happens. Been going to Youtube checking out "Best playoff OT goals of all time" and "Great NHL playoff moments" ... things like that.
Seriously though, I believe game 1 of the 2006 playoffs between us and Ottawa has to be one of the greatest playoff games ever, right ? Can you think of better games ? Let's hear 'em, and please feel free to post the highlights !
Can't wait for playoff hockey to start ! |

One small question: what assets are you using to get the pair of Henrique and Anderson? - kingcong39
Here's what i think they won't need to use for those two:
Jack
Dahlin
Skunk
Cozens
2020 1st
Joker

I don't think Jack would be as upset as many think he would be if they traded Reinhart. They have the distinction of being the #2 pick in consecutive drafts and joining the team (minus Reinhart's 9 game stint) the same year. Sure they may be friends, but Jack wants to win, and I'm sure he would accept any trade that would make the team better. Think Jack was happy that Sam had to ride the pine for a whole game because Sam was out day drinking? Jack may even welcome a Reinhart trade for a player that has the same dedication that Jack does.
Same thing goes for Risto. He said at the end of last "Maybe we need to mother f**ker each other a little more....be harder on each other." That to me sounds like he's not happy with some of his teammates approach to the game. I'm sure he is sick of losing and wouldn't blame him for wanting a trade. It seems at the end of this season he didn't exactly want a trade, but wouldn't be surprised if it happened. For all the people that complain that he's been a part of the problem since he's been here, realize his first full season was just a year before Jack and Sam's. I definitely want to see him with another year under Krueger.
Risto and Jack seemed to me like the only two that were truly pissed on their zoom meetings, and no one on the team puts in more work than those two.
Get rid of the guys laughing on the bench when we're down by 3, not the one's that are 100% committed to winning and doing everything they can to improve themselves.
And for the people that disagree with those us who think the team is too soft, even Jack said that they needed to add toughness in his interview. |

Mittelstadt has a lot of value league wide? Doesn't seem like it right now. - kingcong39
I would say a little more value than Puljujarvi right now, but not much. |

strome was just as brutal as casey, got young .5 ppg center in schmaltz
for everyone who loves strome and wants us to get him, he broke out right about the time casey will be playing this december
one more reason to hold onto casey |

Same thing I think when I see people offering up this year's 1st and 2-3 players/ prospects for Hertl. He's missed half of 3 seasons in his 7 seasons with 3 different knee surgeries (currently still rehabbing his latest one). Sure he's a very good player, I'm not willing to give away the farm for an oft injured player who'll be a UFA in two years. |

Well we shall see with Rhino, probably is one of are biggest chips if they decide to use it. I would think we would find out pretty quickly how Jack responds. |

Speaking of UFA's in 2 years, do you plan on extending Ristolainen? If not, I believe your max value on a trade is this coming offseason while he has 2 years left on his deal.
We know they need forward help, badly.
I'd use both Ristolainen and Montour as pieces to get that forward help and look at either Brodie or DeMelo as a UFA. |

If I had to choose today, I would say yes to planning on extending him. He improved greatly with one year in Krueger's system, and wouldn't trade him without seeing if he continues to improve under Ralph. I'd deal Montour and Miller first. |

I'd say the main obstacle in acquiring Henrique is less about assets and more about the Ducks.
If they think they can compete next year, there's no reason to trade a guy who did a lot of successful heavy lifting as their hybrid 1/2 C at 5v5. |

Vesey was worth a 3rd twice.
Anderson is a proven nhl goal scorer
27 goals before the injury.
He has to be healthy, but he's gonna get a 1st rounder when traded. Maybe 2nd into a 1st like the ek9 trade |

I think he was worse this year tbh.
XG%, CF% down while on ice sh% and sv% were up.
He got luckier this year vs last year and produced worse results. |

Anderson isn’t half the player Kane is or was.
He’s a 26 yr old that has had 1 good NHL season with two meh seasons and has a bad wing.
He’s a buy low guy right now. Any GM that offers a potential 1st for a guy that’s a glorified fringe 2nd liner is nuts.
Columbus should jump at the chance and laugh all the way.
A 21’ 3rd and CJ Smith with the 3rd becoming a 22’ 2nd if he pots 25 or plays 70 games should be more than enough. |

Yeah the only reason to go after him is because of the issues that make him a buy low candidate.
If you're gunna pay a 1st, may as well go after someone with a higher ceiling and better track record. |

Nice player but I hope the team I root for isn’t in the convo if a 1st is involved. |

And unfortunately one of Anderson’s best traits may have been taken from him. Pretty sure I read he’s stated he needs to change or rethink the way he plays the game because of the shoulder.
If that’s true the grit he brings will be diminished. |
|
|

Let's talk blockbusters:
To BUF: Nikolai Ehlers, Patrik Laine, Adam Lowry, Neal Pionk, 2020 second round draft pick, 2021 first round draft pick
To WPG: Jack Eichel, Rasmus Rostolainen, Kyle Okposo, 2021 second round draft pick |

I haven't read that but wouldn't surprise me. Ultimately thats the risk you take. Buy low and if he loses that edge you haven't spent too much. Or he finds that edge again and you've got a top 9 forward at a bargain. |

Have to assume that means a long term deal and a healthy raise (if you can extend him at all). I don't think you're getting him back for 3 years at the same salary. Still want him for 5 years @ 7m?
Can you ever win if you overpay Risto, Sam, Montour (plus even VO and Ullmark)? I think we're at a significant risk of overpaying what would be secondary players on good teams.
