If you accepted donations form a company, industry, etc, or if you have stock in said industry, company etc you are not allowed to work on legislation that contains said company, industry.

Leadership is important, as well. That is where Trump's personality fails him. He's used to just saying what he wants and people jumping to see it's being done, so he doesn't work well with others. He's obnoxious, arrogant. Can behave childishly, is thin-skinned and spiteful. You'd think he'd be easy to beat, but Biden is a joke, imo. What has he ever done to show he's a leader? Biden has made a long career of being a part of the machine that helped create this current mess our country is in.
Ever wondered how many people dislike Trump but voted for him only because Hillary scared them more? Maybe Biden will similarly ride an anyone-but-Trump vote this time. Too often it seems like our choice comes down to the lesser of two evils. Neither side offers us much of a leader. Maybe that will change next time 🙄.

They're not the lowest of lows. They're simply people who have difficulty thinking for themselves. You can't fault a person for not having the capacity to do so.

Never Trumpers and Trump Lickers share the same lack of understanding, and it's just the way it is. If you lack an ability to view the world outside of a box, or a willingness to learn, then that's on the individual. Let them be. Just stop spreading hate.

I wish votes were anonymous. I know how difficult it would be for votes to be anonymous, but at the very least, the congress could be people instead of defined by their party.

I get that with age comes wisdom, but with age comes mental health issues. Also a basic lack of community feel. Lack of real current issues.

I see two problems with this:

1. The practicality of it, like you suggested.

2. If you could make it work practically, there is no way for the constituents to know if the officer is voting for the interest/platforms he was elected to run on. A ridiculous example in order to not start a firestorm: you voted me into office because I would vote for Marvel movies becoming a mandatory part of national education, something you feel very strongly about. You vote for me on this premise. I turn around and vote against this the first chance I get. If my vote is anonymous, you have know way of knowing I voted against it, nor can you make an informed decision not to vote for me next election cycle.

Of course it's impossible, it's a cake and eat it too scenario. You just can't do both. But the system is poison. If I'm a republican and I vote for a democratic policy that is extremely sensible, my own party blacklists me even though I did the right thing. This is the foundation of the failures in congress.
