The problem is Mitts is all potential and Strome is more or less a high floor-low ceiling player who I just don't see being much better than he is now. If Mitts becomes a Strome, why would Chicago trade the confirmed for the unconfirmed? Mitts could be better, eventually. But it's not a risk Chicago should even want to take.

Side note: it feels good not to have Bogo's awesome salary tied around our necks.

I think trying to get Kubalik hurt the deal, and Chicago was going on a little run at that time and got themselves back in the conversation in there division. I don’t know what it will take but I think 1 of those names will be involved if it does happen.
