Youre moving the goalposts

https://www.pnas.org/content/116/34/16793

Here's an academic study that shows risk of being killed broken down by race. If you want to attribute that to violent crime percentage, i can understand that argument to some degree. But that doesn't factor in the underlying economic disparity that leads to violence. These issues are inextricably linked. Poverty, race, violence and incarceration. Thats the point I was trying to articulate to Homie.

There's broad anger about inequality in this country. This issue is a symptom of that anger

- jcragcrumple

Don’t dispute economic inequality at all. But to say cops hunt blacks is just plain false and ignorant. cops go where the crime is. More tumultuous encounters and more chance to get use of force on you

Jack Eichel - No longer worth a 1st round pick and Jesper (frank)ing Bratt.

Braindead indeed.

They might want to look up what Eichel did his rookie year in the league to see what a true top end player does his rookie year.

Then take a look at Eichel's second year, where we mirrored his rookie year production of 24 goals and 32 assists, in 20 less games.

It would take all 3 of their first round picks this year and Nico Hischier to consider trading Eichel to them.

Make it the Eric Lindros trade. And I'll listen.

The assumption in that article was that by demanding a trade, Eichel's value would go down because teams would know the Sabres' hands are tied. I don't buy it, but that's why the offer isn't Hughes, Hirschier, and more than one first round pick.

Regardless, even his ( ) "dimished" value is worth more than the snot rag that writer posted on that website.

You have said this multiple times. I am never going to say I understand either but please tell me how does the face of white privilege have the ability to understand while no one else does?

It's so depressing that we always do this with our good players. Constant turmoil and moving from crisis to crisis, all self inflicted. We have an elite number one center and still find a way (or several) to suck spectacularly

What does the bolded mean?

I sure hope you don't think all people who are working poor (a lot) are in that condition due to lack of drive.

- kingcong39

the majority, is a lack of drive

there are exceptions but given the economy, if you wanted a job, you could get one

if you needed an additional part time job to supplement your income, you could get one

these riots have happened for decades

most of them are lazy, unless you can run the streets to get "free" stuff

I believe you are painting with a very broad bush with the bold above sir.

Do you believe it is easy to work two jobs, or more if you really want to try and get ahead, with two kids as a single mother, for example?

74% of America is white

13% black

So if "only" twice the amount of white people are killed, that's disproportionate. Statistically it "should" be 5x, not 2x

- jcragcrumple

60% of America is white - and have 20-30% fewer encounters with police.

if the mother can find a sitter to watch the kids to loot, she can find a sitter to get ahead in life

I have said it numerous times, welfare should not be a free handout

make them show up at the office, drop their kids at a welfare daycare in the morning

do community service for 4 hours, take a lunch break and then have educated classes for 4 hours

then pick up the kids and go home

you flunk a drug test, your off it

you dont show up, your off it

instead no incentive, no program to get them off it, and many teach their kids how to play the game and pass it on to the next generation

instead they keep having more kids, to make more money and have more cable channels then you or me

Won't get into who's lazy and who isn't. But I will say these people take things because they're simply immoral people. One of them was literally planning a B&E at the Galleria on facebook. This person, along with the people responding, have the money for a phone and a data plan.

There are no homeless people taking part in this. It's criminally inclined people that simply want to cause distruction under the ruse of a protest.

I am not talking about people that are looting.

You made the following statement: some call it poverty, others call it lack of drive

Assigning what is essentially laziness as the root cause to the majority of poverty seems woefully shortsighted.

What a crazy couple days. For those of you who are saying nice things, I and police appreciate the support. No, we are not all bad like some people on here are saying. No, we do not want to kill people, it’s the last thing we want to do.

And Yes, we hate bad cops. Probably even more then you. We want them gone (there are few, not widespread like the media says). They ruin our good name and we hate them. Ironically it’s liberal prosecutors, judges, administrators and police unions that allow them to keep their jobs.

I have many current and former police friends.

Your statement is uneducated, ignorant, misguided, and uninspiring.

You need to be better than that because you are part of the problem.

Do you consider the officers that watched the gentleman get killed by the other office kneeling on his neck as bad officers?

I ask as I am not sure they are bad officers, as much as officers who made a bad decision of inaction when they could have done something to stop the end result.

Yes, like any other organization. To attack cops for the actions of some is so ignorant. We are humans too. Hundreds of police hurt this weekend, some serious. A security officer (who was black) shot and killed for doing his job. Disgusting. Media wanted division and everyone fell for it.

Of course they are bad. I am glad they are all fired and hope they are charged (something at least). If I showed up on scene they would of got their ass kicked by me and other good officers.

Big cities lower the standard to get hired and this is the quality of officer you get. Scum thugs
