The quote unquote ideal targets, like Cirelli, Point, or even under the radar guys like Roope Hintz, are almost certainly not happening without a huge overpayment.

They were already heavy in defensemen, both prospects and in the NHL.

There was little reason to take a defenseman with that pick when they need forward prospects that can score so badly, especially when they took a mediocre defenseman.

Detroit has a some Centers coming up in there system that will be ready soon, plus depending on how the draft falls. I would see what it would take to get Larkin, I know it is a big if, but 2 picks in the top 10 could really speed up there rebuild

My prediction, which is really just a guesstimate, would be:

2020 1st, 2021 1st, Cozens, C prospect

"Okay thanks for your service, Dom, and enjoy your retirement. If you decide you want to play again, we own your rites and we'll be calling the shots, not you".

I think adam Henrique is the answer at this point in time...$5.825M for the next four years might be high for the ducks as they're said to have been under an internal cap for at least a little while...even if there's a compliance buyout this off season, i'm not so sure the ducks would go for that as it's dead money...

Henrique's salary is a bit high and at 30 he ain't a spring chicken, however there's a consistency to his game while averaging somewhere around 20-22 goals/season and around 45 points...he's got playoff experience all the way to the Cup Finals in where he scored to goals against the Kings as a rookie in 2011...

Botts could wait for a potential buyout, or he could take the bull by the horns and, if the ducks really want to get out from under Henrique's salary, offer them a young player or two...mitts might be enticing for Anaheim in this scenario...

too much?...too little?...who knows...and Henrique has a modified NTC...would buffalo be on the 10-team no-trade list for the Brantford, Ontario native?...my bet is no and that he'd see it as a good opportunity

Why would they need to make room for a center if they trade for Henrique?

Eichel, Henrique, Larsson, someone...?

I would not be relying on Cozens to be a center at least for next year.

It's a ton to give up, Cozens would be the only thing holding a deal to me up, and Larkin is only what 23 I believe and a proven C, with a 6 mill cap hit for 3 more years.

I understand and you are probably right, but he would be one of my targets. Jack and Dahlin are the only one's I wouldn’t give up. He would be a true 2C that could give you 70 to 80 pts a year with Skinner. It's a dream scenario but I would make that call.

I’m fine with sending McCabe out or in a package for whatever. I’m still in the change for change sake. Send some of the Sabre lifers out and infuse new blood and attitude into this underperforming group of SLACKERS!
