Sorry in advance, but I'm back

I realize I'm late to the party, but Henrique could represent a really solid value pick-up. By no means is he a perfect player but he's an effective 2C with some defensive abilities and whose offense isn't gone. His relative numbers were pretty strong across the board last year and his relGF has been positive every year but his last 24 games in New Jersey.

You could do a lot worse for a 2C that likely won't cost an arm and a leg. A line with he and Skinner would be a pretty soft landing spot for Cozens, too.

The seven non playoff teams are eligible to trade with each other.

No sweat. There will be no excuses this year, at least we will know josh Allen isn’t the guy and we can find someone else sooner rather than later.

Wasn’t the reason for the question, just curious. But, how does he improve the team otherwise? Draft picks won’t be ready. Will any UFA’s come here? Prospect pool is bare. What else can he do?

For all the flack they took (and I gave a lot of it...to Roy especially), they were both very solid players. Neither of them were capable of being that #1 center, though. Put either of them, doesn't matter which, in their primes behind Eichel now, and you definitely have one of the better center tandems in the league.
- buffalofan19

I respect the hell out of Roy

he busted his a$$ to get ready and was able to play game 7 vs the flyers

I think he was an unjust whipping boy, like satan, reinhart and others

so why does everyone here waste time and energy dreaming about something like that while posting trade propositions?
- Michael Pachla

beats talking about the owners, the gm, or the sabres playoff match up next month

that's all I got

Eichel wants out, and it will be made public soon, not like what came out today. Pegula will be stepping away and Kim will be the face of the Sabres and Bills. The internal frustration and finger pointing started a month or so ago with how Pegula handled paying employees. People thought it was bad under Darcy, just wait and see what's coming soon.

Botterill staying, like I said before............... another show of how the Pegula's aren't very knowledgeable in certain area's regarding the future and the operation of this organization. Botterill can't shake the " Pittsburgh mentality" I was told and that is killing him in moving this organization forward.

Listening to his end of year press conference, his plan is Tage, Mitts and Cozens in, probably Vesey, Frolik and maybe another Larry or three out.

My best guess to supplement what Cong said:

Olofsson-Eichel-Reinhart
Skinner-Kahun-Mojo
Tage-Cozens-FA/trade
Mitts-Larry-Large Larry

This is a little overstated, Eichel is pissed at a lot, but he hasn't requested out, he wants to see some changes this off-season or he could make that request.

Josh Anderson? It's my understanding the Sabres were basically there but couldn't get the deal done in time on deadline day. Likely revisit it at the draft, especially since Botterill is sticking around for another year.

Hasek handcuffed the Sabres, by giving them a very short list of teams he would report too.

Wasn't he 36 years old when he was traded to detroit?

36 is not a players prime kiddo.
Peak years are 27-32 years old

- Boss34

He posted 33 more shutouts after he left the Sabres, and his highest single season GAA was 2.20 and that was 8 games when he was hurt. As a 42 year old he went 38-11-6 .913 and 2.05 with 8 shutouts and finished 5th in Vezina voting. At 42 years old. The year he won his first Cup he posted a .920 and 1.86 and posted 6 shutouts in the playoffs. When was the last time the Sabres had a goalie with 6 shutouts in an entire season? 9 years ago, that's how long it's been. Players like that don't follow normal performance curves of peaking from 24-27 and then off a cliff after 30.

He wanted out, and he didn't give a (frank) and made no effort to make a routine save.

Bottom line, he wanted out and didn't give a single (frank) what happened to the team. The evidence speaks for itself, Slava Kozlof who had 74 points combined in the two years before he came here and a first round pick which was a virtual lock to be 29 or 30 and a conditional pick which wasn't even exercised. For one of the best goalies of all time. GTFO. (frank) him.

With the Sabres and Jackets both looking for help to make the playoffs at the TDL, it's hard to imagine what kind of deal was being discussed for a guy that wasn't going to play again this year.

I honestly think the Blue Jackets will beat the Leafs in the first round.

They tighten things up defensively and have enough offensively to get it done.
