Normal as in why is this stuff always public knowledge? - Pacificgem
I am guessing because Vancouver has a lot of Drama Queens. What other NHL city would care about a scout that much or think that a team is totally screwed because a scout wanted out.
It is an issue because Vancouver media made it an issue, They know how many bleeding hearts are out there that will escalate it to a fire everyone town burning. |

I wonder if it were the same ones that were here for our riot. |

I completely agree. JB will continue to have a strong scouting team, there will be a new hire. No big deal. |

LA Kings and assistant GM part ways hardly a word is mentioned after he helps construct 2 cup winning teams.
We lose Frankie Corrado and all hell breaks loose . What's next the Zamboni driver?

Why doesn’t GMJB just shut the (frank) up and simply say we just decided to part ways? Why must he go into detail? It’s unprofessional. If you were let go from your employer and they went on radio to go into detail as to why they’d probably get into legal trouble.
Furthermore, he wasn’t just a scout, he was the Director of Amateur Scouting, all the amateur scouts reported to him. I know you’re downplaying his significance to the club because you’re a good solder but he was more than simply a scout.
He was around long enough that the guys under him will continue to do a good job, the foundation is there in terms of what kind of player they’re looking for. |

They’ll probably replace him from someone already in the organization. |

Was it as unprofessional as Judd Brackett telling his story to the media earlier?
This is the first time Jim has said anything publicly about anyone and surprisingly the media have had full detail of how Judd has been unhappy for months. The shutting the mouth works both ways.
I always did like Brackett but never once did I give him all the credit for the the Canucks success at scouting. He was part of a scouting team and third in command of that scouting team . He wanted to be first in command. Good bye and good luck. |

I never read a word from Brackett, but at the end of the day he’s not with the organization any longer and Benning is. He’s representing a nearly one billion dollar business....shut the (frank) up. |

How would everyone in the media know the Judd and Canucks situation if no one was talking . Someone had to be telling the media over and over Judd wants out.

Also regarding Brackett, I don’t know any other organization that allows their Director of Amateur Scouting to have full autonomy over the first two rounds. Doesn’t mean there isn’t, there quite possibly could be.
Brackett must think Jim Benning is a complete moron to even ask such a thing. |

I believe a report first came out on the second day of the 2019 draft that there was a spat between the two, a visible audible disagreement. All I’ve read is speculation since then until recently. |

Benning repeatedly told the media that there was no issue and they have made Judd a reasonable extension offer so again where did the media get the idea there was a problem. Someone had to be spoon feeding them. |

Someone saw it at the draft and someone within the organization leaking things, probably a combination of both. |

He wasn't at the table day 2 . He could have been sick that day for all they know. Someone was giving info . Truthfully who cares. He was a good man , they had a difference of opinion good luck in his new job. No big deal.

He was there day one, which is when the disagreement happened.
As I said earlier, I believe there’s a good foundation in the amateur scouting department so hopefully they can continue their success on the draft floor. |

I like the way Benning has taken charge of everything. Before he was painted as a guy that could be taken advantage of very easily. I think he is starting to show he is a no nonsense hard working guy.
I know a few here that don't like him but I like him more now than before

Something like 560 new cases in Quebec yesterday. WTF are they doing there to make themselves so susceptible to this virus? I don’t get it. - bloatedmosquito
