I have many close friends of color, love them like family. We take the piss out of each other every chance we get. - VanHockeyGuy
I’ve a melting pot of friends. They all have interesting differences that are enjoyable. |

Any African-South Americans? - Nighthawk
I agree with you, it’s stupid to sub categorize where someone is from-from. But the point was, there’s nothing wrong with African-American as a label. |

Not so much is it wrong but totally unnecessary imo. It’s either across the board with all ppl’s or none. |

Honestly, everyone in America (and Canada) is from somewhere else, even the First Nations settled here from somewhere else. |

If you are a police officer, you should be fucking ashamed of how your colleagues south of the border are behaving. |

They are not helping keep the calm, they're pouring gasoline on the fire. The cops seem really jacked up for this.

On a lighter (and more predictable note - sorry for whining Makita)...
“BREAKING: Bim Jenning has fired the Spacex engineers. He wants control over the rocket design. More to come. #canucks” |

The thing to remember is it is South of the Border. Our Canadian police do not treat people like that the same as they do not in Norway Denmark Australia and a whole bunch of other places.
The US is (frank)ed up and there is absolutely no reason to burn cars or buildings in BC |

A lot of it has to do with how the US paramilitarizes their police forces and do really lousy psychological profiles on their recruits. Which means they usually only hire quasi-thugs with God complexes who want to abuse their authority. It doesn't help that even the most stable of people will snap when they see all the poop they do on a regular basis. That doesn't excuse what's happened, and clearly with all the problems the officer had with having so many complaints and being involved in shootings that he should have been fired long ago, but it does bring context to the situation. |

Yeah, I don’t care. The behavior of law enforcement professionals across the country yesterday was shameful. The behavior of the president of the United Stares of America has been disgusting. I hope our borders remain closed to the US indefinitely, economic repercussions and all. |

I agree, things are less horrific here, and around the world, but I don’t think we are immune to the problems they are experiencing, I think we’re just more polite. |

You want to do what's right put that cop on trail and send him to prison for life or if there is a death penalty in Minny then execute him. That was not police brutality it was murder. Let him face the same laws the criminals get.
That would make a cop think twice the next time.
People are stupid and feed off the emotions of other angry people. There is a fuken pandemic and you have 50 000 people assembled in multiple cities rioting .
I seen a video of a black man running out screamin at a crowd "WTF did you burn my truck and break the windows of my store". The crowds don't care who they steamroll as long as they can have fun and steamroll. Stupid |

Space X is cool and unique b/c it's the first manned launch of a private-public American made rocket, meaning they don't need to rely on NASA solely going forward.
Also offers a bit of hope in these bleak times for exploration, collaboration and dreaming big.
Maybe we'll do a better job on Mars.
- dbot
...and NASA relies on Russian rocket engines for many of their launches.
