I’m not sure which is stupider. That the NHL believes this is the best course of action, or that a Benning thinks he has the assets to recoup a second round pick.

I seen some guy on Twitter say Benning admits he wants to take control of the first two rounds in a year where there is no first or second. Sure it is funny.

I think they will have a first round pick this year .

You think they lose the playin, or it never gets off the ground?

I think Rafferty or Demko could get a second

Trading a guy that is doing exactly what you hope a second round pick will turn into in four or five years seems stupid to me. Trading Sutter, or Myers, or Eriksson yes. I mean, sure, you could trade Boeser for a second, probably a first, but does that make the team better?

If they sign Marky to a four year deal and have Mike DiPi who is almost ready and you could lose Demko in the expansion draft why not trade him?

Boeser or Jake could be traded we will wait and see what Jim wants to do.

He doesn’t get it. Prospects on ELC’s are needed to make the team. Those that earn it will need a spot. Recouping picks 101.

2021/22 or sooner i see at least Pod Rathbone OJ & Hoglander on the roster.

That’s a healthy influx of fun talent right there. Sutter Pearson Edler Benn will all be UFA’s that year. Timing could work out nicely. Baertschi already gone. LE Roussel Beagle are in 2022. Those are the contracts to focus on more imo.

Some good points here. However I don't typically 'contempt' everything liberal and I certainly don't condone Police Brutality. Not one bit. My Father was RCMP for 30 years and treated all races very very well and was very well respected for it. I always admired that about him. But I do not condone Kaepernicks actions to get his message out. Again it's EXACTLY like many jobs out there regardless of 'exclusivity'. People can't use their place of employment for political actions without consequences. Kaepernick did that and paid for it. Can't weep for him. Is what it is.

The reason he does it at work is because he has a national audience, something that most of us aren't granted.

What doesn't he get and why are prospects on ELC's needed?
Washington, St Louis or Boston have how many on their rosters?
If you are talking about a rebuilding team, sure, if they have someone ready to take a spot. Also centre and defense prospects is a concern, moving forward.

Whenever free agency starts, I think Benning will be making a pitch for Joel Edmundson.
Be a nice fit at what should be a reasonable price.

ELC’s needed so as cap space to resign RFA’s & UFA’s. We are building a team by keeping it intact. There will be cap challenges resulting in roster changes.

Any reason why a LHD?

Guessing for when Edler is put out to pasture.

Plus, he was agreeing with you AND suggesting there were cap problems at the same time, which you and I both know wouldn’t go over well

The NHL did take away 3 -6 mil that they said the cap would be a few weeks earlier. That is an issue but there is no excuse to still have Sven eating up 3.4 mil and not being able to sign Toffoli.

It will be a busy off season but they will be compliant with the core in tact. There will also be a lot of name calling too
