Once upon a time, there was a group of people that lived in an area now known as Ethiopia - Sudan - Chad.
Part of the group decided to take a walk and explore the hood, while others decided to stay put.
Tens of thousands of years later these groups have branched out in several other subgroups - based on some other decisions they made on where to go.
Some people like to 'classify' these subgroups based on skin color, gender, IQ, wealth.
Personally I prefer to decide them up in only two groups:
Decent people and people that are bad to the bone and have no moral compass.
All the rest is BS. |

If only MLK had the genius thought to kneel at a football game!
If you truly believe the leaders, the governments, the powerful people in a country are at their core truly hateful racists, why the (frank) would kneeling at a football game get them to change their minds? Moreso, why would you think rioting would change their minds?
Daryl Davis is an excellent example of a black man who converted KKK members just by playing music, talking to them, befriending them and talking through the issues he sees in society as a form of peaceful protest that actually made a difference. - JohnFergusonJr
kneeling at a football game with millions of people watching is a start..its something...no matter how much you want to dismiss it.
dont have to change all thier minds, but booting the fascist leader from the whitehouse is another place to start.
but after 400 years...your solution is to play music and chat them up, to see if that helps |

Another person with no clue what the word fascist actually means.
Unlike kneeling at a football game, Daryl Davis is an actual start. It's actually something. Converting over 200 real racists is no small feat for a man of modest means. It's probably a lot more than any kneeling football player did with a lot less resources.

Daryl Davis is a blues musician, but he also has what some might call an interesting hobby. For the past 30 years, Davis, a black man, has spent time befriending members of the Ku Klux Klan.
He says once the friendship blossoms, the Klansmen realize that their hate may be misguided. Since Davis started talking with these members, he says 200 Klansmen have given up their robes. When that happens, Davis collects the robes and keeps them in his home as a reminder of the dent he has made in racism by simply sitting down and having dinner with people. |

Racism is bad but riots won't fix a damn thing. This isn't the first riot in the US but they don't create meaningful change. Peaceful protest, absolutely go ahead. But burning poop to the ground and pretending that's okay is just asinine and unproductive. - JohnFergusonJr
The police are instigating for the most part. |

Racism and rioting are both stupid, yes. Neither one is a good idea and neither one is productive to anyone involved. - JohnFergusonJr
Rioting is good for white cops to abuse their power get out their aggression on unarmed civilians. Small penis syndrome

When we wanted a variance when we were looking to do some renovations, we contacted City Hall and they agreed. We didn’t have to riot or loot at all. I really don’t know what’s gotten into these people. After all Trump did say that MAGA loves the blacks. |

No worries. I can see where you’re coming from on all this. My post wasn’t really directed at you. I’m just trying not to respond directly to bozo so I hung that off your post.
Also if interested, an article by an anti-terrorism expert on white nationalists and these protests.

To be fair Trump did say that he’s the least racist person anywhere in the world. He also has more Facebook followers than anyone else and was very excited by 5he ratings his coronavirus briefings were getting.
JFJ wins this one. |

I straight up just don't think Holl is worth the money. Dermott needs a new contract and I'd gladly ship out Holl and put the CAP space towards Dermott. - GreatGigInTheSky
Holl has shown he can play 2nd pairing mins at a 2 million cap number.
Dermott is the piece in a trade to get a good D.

Why trade the better defenseman?
Holl isn't a good d-man, he's capable of being a 6/7 d-man but isn't great at killing penalties and overpaid 600-800k ( caphit). |

Holl has proved to me he can play 2nd pairing mins well.
He is a cheap number 4.
Good for you for thinking differently. |

I Don't mind Holl.
Would have preferred Leafs to step away from Muzzin and go with Rielly - Dermott - Sandin on left side, and Holl (3rd pairing / 7th) and Liljegren (3rd pairing / 7th) on right side.
Still need 2 D-man for RHD positions of course. |

Any of dermott, lehtonen and sandin can and have played the right side.
