Kadri would’ve been a great replacement for when JT was out. Also at times he could’ve played wing, or the PP, or a crucial shutdown role..

I don’t know why some of you only focus on his suspensions, he was such a great player who gave it his all and wanted to be a Leafs. Kerfoot is meh, and Barrie (frank)ing sucks. Terrible trade on all fronts.

No he wasn't because unlike Kerfoot, he's actually capable of playing center and winning FOs. Kerfoot is horrible at FOs and plays with zero intensity. Big surprise, the Leafs have next to zero heart, passion and intensity, all areas of weakness for Dubas' team.

Barrie was poop defensively in Colorado and he's even more poop defensively in Toronto. Right handed Gardiner is all he's been and he's gone as a UFA so a poopty rental is all he has been.

He maybe forced it but he suffered the most before the turnaround winning AM. That alone showed his heart but getting a soft C & 1 dimensional D wasn’t great.

Kudos to you for still having the patience to explain this to people who can't figure it out on their own.

Kadri became a distraction that seemed to be not handled properly. His fire was part of what made him & made him a loose cannon. He needed to look inside & channel it better is all. I wouldn’t quit on him with his talent & skills he brought. PO’s can be a war & his desire is lacking on many teams.

Kadri cost the Leafs two playoff series and there was no sense in keeping him around with AM34 and JT ahead of him.

Tavares has been a relatively healthy player over the past few seasons so losing him for 10 games was unexpected but not worth keeping Kadri, presciently, around for.

Kerfoot has been mediocre but not terrible.

Barrie was absolutely LOST under Inflexible Babs. He seemed to pull it together under Keefe who recognized the player he had. No one would deny Barrie's defensive deficiencies, but he is 10x better than the next RHD the Leafs currently have on their roster.

Perhaps Brodie would have fit the bill better than Tyson, but we'll never know. Some Flames fans have indicated the Brodie wasn't all that hot playing on his off-side though, so he may have been a disaster.

Meh... Dubas had to make a move, it didn't work out as planned but I think a lot of that blame has to do with a coach who refused to play his players to their strengths and was routinely outcoached because he would stick to his flawed gameplan to the bitter end.

Babs is essentially this era's Viktor Tikhonov, who famously would never pull his goalie despite being down by a goal (on multiple occassions) in the final mins of play because he just couldn't accept that his pre-game strategy wouldn't pull through.

He was out of necessity top 4 D but is a liability. The Av’s are better now & after without him at the price he would’ve wanted. The Av’s are scary good & getting better with Kadri & now Makar & soon to be Byram.
