Agree with this. Leafs had that in gardiner who they let walk. I honestly would have gardiner over barrie.
Ya I know gardiner had his game 7 blunders but at some point a goalie has to be a goalie and stop a damn puck. - bryant
Barrie was misused under Babcock. What he tried to do was wrong. |

You're still ignoring a simple yes/no question? Keeping Kadri at 4.5M means we could have lost other players due to cap reasons. - PatC80
False. Kerfoot and Barrie had the same combined cap hit and the Leafs used plenty of Marlies at low cap hits that could have filled the spots. |

His strongman narrative has been shattered.
What's the old saying, a picture is worth a thousand electoral college votes?

Exactly. That’s why he pulled this stunt today. He was embarrassed about the whole basement thing so hw wanted to look strong and got his boys to bust some heads so he could make his walk. |

So it can help even though you called it an illogical argument? - PatC80
The illogical argument is that it's absolutely necessary for Kadri to have Crosby and Bergeron to learn from his mistakes. |

He did all the same stupid poop defensively with Keefe he just scored more but he was still atrocious in his own zone and a defensive liability. That didn't and probably won't ever change. |

Yep, unfortunately.
I mean, sure, the natural-born clause makes some sense as the fear is that a foreign-born individual might be potentially a foreign-compromised President. But hey, who says a natural-born American couldn't be foreign-compromised? - mjones242

How is it false? 2 players with the same cap hit as 1 player could be a good thing. Barrie may have been miscast under Babcock but even you can't argue that he was not a top 4 RHD in Colorado |

Gardiner had zero hockey sense.
He constantly held onto the puck too long.
Nice kid, I wish him well, but no, not Gardiner over Barrie. |

Sure he can argue and may I suggest he join all those wonderful fans on the Avs blog. All zero of them, he can even ask Sadowski about joining the Kadri fan club.

He was poop defensively in Colorado too. Wrong guy for this team. Literally the only thing he was that fit the need was right handed. Everything else, he was the wrong guy for the job. |

From a PR perspective, it was a franking disaster.
Tear gas, rubber bullets and flash bombs to clear peaceful protesters from a public park.

Okay but even if Marchand did, it doesn't mean it's the only way Kadri could learn from his mistakes. Being more talented doesn't have anything to do with this. If anything, Marchand was also far more undisciplined and still managed to get his poop together but somehow Kadri could never do it because reasons. |

Marchand was a 50-60 point player for the first 6 years of his career so while his ceiling has been higher than Kadri, let's not pretend he's Crosby from his rookie season either. The point was, he was a far greater suspension risk that learned his lesson. If he could avoid suspensions, so could Kadri.
Wrong again. Nobody on the Leafs blamed Kadri. And if they did, they have poopty characters who would rather blame a teammate for sticking up for his teammates than blame themselves for not getting the job done when the pressure was on.
No he didn't. Barrie is poop defensively regardless of who the coach was and he's a rental.
Not worth it, terrible trade. - JohnFergusonJr
Marchand has been a consistent Selke player since his rookie season. He was an all-star 5x and recieved Hart votes up to the age of 29 (Kadri's current age). Kadri has never been an all-star selection and no one would ever have him in the conversation as league MVP.
Your comparison is beyond obtuse.
Per nobody blaming Kadri on the Leafs for their playoff losses: of course not. Players have integrity and honour. No one would ever call out a fellow player for being the main fixture for playoff losses. But the fact remains, his loss severely depleted the Leafs up the middle.
Barrie's numbers under Keefe are like night and day compared to his work under Inflexible Babs. No one would mistake him for a stalwart defender but he was absolutely a net positive under Keefe. Any narrative otherwise is disingenous as (frank).
You're so consistently wrong when it comes to hockey talk that the mind (frank)ing boggles. |

Kadri could do it still, but his cap hit and the need for a top 4 RHD were more important than giving Kadri what 1,2,3 or 4 more years to figure it out. |
