Marchand has been a consistent Selke player since his rookie season. He was an all-star 5x and recieved Hart votes up to the age of 29 (Kadri's current age). Kadri has never been an all-star selection and no one would ever have him in the conversation as league MVP.

Plus he got some time on the top line when every forward on Colorado was injured. It was a good trade at the time, it didn't work out in the Leafs favour. Part of that is on Babcock in my opinion.
