Baseball is going to royally screw up despite being the easiest sport to do safely aside from, like, tennis.

TPC - you know how big of a baseball fan I am and how much the stupidity on both sides - but especially the owners - annoys me.

The year where 30-40 million people are unemployed is just not the time to fight over millions imo. I usually will follow but man this will turn me off big time going forward If they cancel over money when every other sport is making the effort to come back

Jan--

I hear you and your argument about Boston getting screwed by the round robin tournament. Just keep in mind though, there will be NO FANS at these games, so it kind of minimizes "home ice" advantage. Last change privilege for the "home" team is a legit perk, but I don't see that as being the difference in ONE game out of seven in a series. If Boston is really that good ( and I think they are ), then its not that big a deal...

Yea I hope they realize how bad they are going to screw themselves If they cancel the season. Summer is usually the prime season for baseball as it dominates the sports world. With hockey and basketball now Sharing the limelight, they can’t afford to sit out

I was a huge Phillies fan back in the late 70's and early 80's and was thrilled when the won the WS, but then the strike happened. I went outside and never went back. Watched a handful of games over the years and honestly don't miss it.

This may have been discussed in the political blog that I ignored after it blew up but has there been any discussion on rangers playing home and losing their tax abatement?

Are you talking about MSG not paying property taxes?

I'm assuming if they are designated the home team away from the Garden they would have to pay for that period. The exemption in the law is pretty clear

Nice, thanks Jan.

Wonder if that was put in at a later date. Doubt that was in the original done with Koch. Rangers are smart covering their bases. Have to give them that

Kind of wish NHL would follow the NBA's target plan for ending this season and starting the 20-21 season

Right now NBA playoffs will end October 12th at the latest and they have a target date to start next season Dec 1st.

Not sure how realistic it is but just hope NHL doesn't take another 3 months off after finishing the playoffs

I think it could be awesome. Once the season ends, instead of having to take more time off it would basically jump right into the draft/trades/free agency. Then a month later games again. Would be such an exciting time

Rangers just need to figure out a way to get through next season. After that I am not too worried about the cap going forward

you guys are in good shape for next season anyway.

Only 5 RFA's

Strome
Lemieux
PDG
Deangelo
Georgiev

and you'll have $14 million in space even with a flat cap.

I just wasn't sure cause rumors are Strome and DeAngelo want a big raise and they still have to fill out the bottom 6
