Easy to say but if he's going to be so good, why would Chicago trade him? Further, how much would it take to trade for him? - kingcong39
How can anyone on this board answer the last question, unless there are some NHL GM's participating incognito, lol.
If Buff36's friend was right and Mitts + was offered but rejected, I guess it would have to be north of that. Maybe, something like Montour & 2021 2nd? |

I like it. I had DeMelo as a target for 2LhD - IonSabres
DeMelo is a right shot RHD. Are you going to have him play his off side?
Overall, he's tied for the number one defender I would have interest in along with TJ Brodie.
From what I could find, Brodie is a left shot RHD.
Evolving Hockey has the projected next contract range for Brodie to be similar to what they have for Hamonic.
What's interesting about Brodie is he had a good year on a team that struggled.
I would take Brodie over Hamonic. |

10 unarmed blacks were killed by police last year.
How many of those 19 made it to CNN and MSNBC?
How many of those 10 made it to CNN and MSNBC?

Gerbe is acting like Strome is going to be an 80-90 point producing center.
If that is true, Chicago is going to want a ton for him.
Is there a chance Chicago has to make a choice between keeping Strome or Kubalik? Sure, but why would they take the winger over the center if they had to make a choice? |

He would not, you are correct, but he is an RHD. |

I can't believe anyone actually needs to go over this step by step, but I will just to show you how really very easy it is.
You have been answering for something you *actually* did. For four days. And already you're claiming to be a victim and that having to answer for that is "abuse."
Let's go over your racist post:
"If people of color talked normal ... " -
THERE ARE MANY MANY MANY people of color who *DO* "talk normal"
"If people of color ... stopped shooting each other every other night ... ."
THERE ARE MANY MANY MANY people of color who *DO NOT* shoot each other every other night
"If people of color ... acted civil in times of crisis ... "
THERE ARE MANY MANY MANY people of color who *DO* act civilly in times of crisis.
Your statement believes people behave in certain ways strictly and solely based on skin color, even though as an incontrovertible matter huge numbers of these people do not actually engage in that behavoir. This is the textbook defininition of racism. Your statement makes people of color defend that behavior, or themselves **even though it's clear they don't engage in it.**
In a short four days, you are offended and whiney about "abuse," and I'm only giving you poop for stuff you actually did - and stuff that to this day you say you don't think is wrong!!!
Imagine having to spend your entire life, every day, taking poop for stuff you never did, and stuff you aren't even trying to defend.
If the way I treated you for the last four days makes you feel like a victim, and feels like abuse - how do you think your entire lifetime of bullpoop ignorant statements make people of color feel?
Can you see it now??? - Der Kaiser
98% of blacks are killed by other blacks.
Do you see blacks marching again that? Or just the 10 killed my cops?
You are looking at around 6000 blacks murdered by blacks.
The point being is if Blacks took black on black murder as serious as the 10 deaths by police then perhaps 1000s of black lives would be saved. |

Looking at his very mediocre last season, Travis Hamonic struggled defensively last season, and overall, is a vanilla defenseman.
He's also going to be 30 this August 16th, and possibly 31 by the time the next season ends.
Hamonic's 2 most highly predicted next contracts per Evolving Hockey are 5 years @ $5.21M per (32% probability) and 3 years @ $3.985M per (24% probability).
I'd rather go after Dylan DeMelo as an RHD. He'll cost less, he is nearly 2 years younger (28 next May), and he's the better overall player based on last year, as he is quality at both ends of the ice. - kingcong39
I know you have done a lot of research on Dmen so I'm genuinely interested to understand your characterization of Hamonic's last season as very medicore, but regard DeMelo as better overall.
I find the statistics, largely in Hockey Reference as not providing a ton of value....I tend to look at
- compare OZS% vs CF%
- PDO %
for a general picture. |

Not sure what they are thinking.
On The Instigators, back in Feb/March I believe it was Elliot Friedman checked in with Chicago sources ( not disclosed who), and he said he came away with the feeling that Strome could be on the market given Chicago's Cap issues for next season.
Again, not sure what Bowman would think...maybe they liked what they have seen from Kirby Dach? |

I would stay away from Brodie. Watching him play regularly, he is good offensively and yes can play both sides but his defensive flaws, avg to below avg hockey iq outweigh what he produces offensively. Giordano covers up a lot of Brodie's flaws and halfway through the season Brodie was pushed down to 3rd pairing. |

I don't believe these protests and the point of BLM movement, nor Kaepernick's position was limited to murders. Right?
Incidents involving murders by law enforcement have been the trigger point however.
When you listen to people of color they are pretty consistent in their point about the desire to be treated equally, especially by law enforcement, but society as a whole...and use an example of being pulled over for no specific reason, or stopped while walking and being asked for ID and subjected to alot of questions.
It's wrong, period.

53% of Violent crimes, 60% of murders. Perception goes into how people view things. Change is needed everywhere. - Buff36
Buffalo city councilman Rasheed N.C. Wyatt tells African Americans to go loot and riot in white neighborhoods
the man should be in jail, instead white people in office are bending the knee
it's a two way street toward any resolution, and de-funding the police, riots, looting is not going to solve the problem because a few cops each year are charged with killing a few unarmed black and unarmed white men each year
enforcing curfews, avoid the violence and have party members from both sides working together is a step toward solving the problem
we are no closer now then when rodney king riots went on |

You are right Ion, but again perception goes a lond way on people's view and how they react. It's not right, but that's just being human and that has to change. |

Yes. Yes. Yes. And yes. So is black on black murder (which you responded to).

Never said it wasn't a problem, rather trying to get past the rather limited viewpoint that it is solely about murders by law enforcement and therefore the protests are misplaced. They aren't.
That does not discount all forms of murder that need to be addressed.
I think we are on the same page.

It was great to see the protest in DC was the way a protest "should be". People peacefully standing up for a cause. Perhaps the Natl Guard had something to do with all of the hooligans staying away, as well as the protestors themselves shutting any agitators down. Hopefully now we can start to move along towards finding solutions.
The narrative that I'm getting tired of, as I see a protestor quoted in many news stories along the lines of "every day they're killing another one...". (it's never the author writing it, it's always a quote from protestor, a neat way to absolve oneself of responsibility for spreading this falsehood in one's news reporting.) The narrative that the police are running around unjustifiably killing black men every day has been debunked. It's a dangerous narrative that fuels hatred of all police, instead of focusing on ways to weed the bad apples out. That's not to say that there are no other problems, for one, the court system seems too willing to lock up black youths for minor offenses, and that starts a cycle that many never break. I know there are many other problems. I know "driving while black" is all it takes to be pulled over by some cops. Things must be improved, mostly in all people's minds & hearts. It's hard to legislate "Be nice".
I've always thought Dave Chappelle was funny as hell. I never thought one of the most memorable things he said wouldn't be funny, at all. He also shows how to handle yourself w/dignity and class with the way he handled this situation.

You can't argue w/what he said about driving as a black man.
Here's hoping ALL people are willing to do what it takes to help improve things.
People of differing opinions being able to hold civil conversations would be a good start 🤔
